I've tried stevia. It is safe, nutritious and actually natural. I guess I'm picky--I think it's bitter. But funny thing, when I eat it in natural protein bars or drink it in natural protein shakes, I find it more bearable (it doesn't taste as bitter), only when I buy the powder and mix it myself. I may be putting too much (this stuff is potent Razz!!! A drop goes a long way!!!). But yeah, I'd say give it a try. If you don't mind the taste, then you have just rid yourself of your artificial/non-nutritive sweetner addiction...for the most part.

Good Luck!!!

Thanks for the link Frank!

Very interesting; backs up what you said Frank as it pertains to you. Following what they're saying, I would get hungry after a diet soda since I have no caloric value, but that just doesn't happen for me. I get what she's saying, but I think a possible link could be that humans are creatures of habit.

I never drink anything before or during a meal; I only drink after a meal (whether it's water, diet pop or a beer).

I think that my brain never tied a sweet taste to food because my body has already been given calories when the sweets are presented to my pallet.

I would like to see if they had a group of rats that were fed food, then give artificial sweetener. If they did this for a period of time, do the rats want to eat after a diet soda? I would almost think the opposite affect would happen.

Very interesting...

That's a great point. I always have something to drink BEFORE. If you remember some time ago, I was talking about an insatible appetite. I would be stuffed, still wanting more. It didn't matter if I took my time or gulped it down. I tried both. I also would drink nearly 1 liter in 8 hours and some days, it would be 2 for the day. We won't even talk about hot summers.

Thanks for sharing that info.
