What are the negatives of potassium loading prior to a contest. I have been told this is bad for my kidneys.

Thank you for your input. I had taken it for my first show and did nothing for me. I went into the 2nd show without doing the potassium loading and I seen no difference. I have been told from a few doctor clients of mine that it is not a real smart thing to do, but it seems like everyone is doing it Confused for the conest and have had no side-effects. Whats a girl to do?

I did my potassium load different last show...worked well. I only took 4-5 99mg thurs and the same fri and saturday (spread through the day) It does help with getting water into the muscle if you hold water. But too much for me backfired. Too much I think puts your body in a state of total shock and that for me doesnt work. Keep water high through friday then cut back a bit. Everyone is different.
