A lot of competitors on a very strict diet for a long term end up binge eating, especially if it is their first contest. You need to do that contest and prepare for another contest (but not really). The next "contest" is weaning off your contest diet, slowly introducing other foods to get back into a normal swing of things. If you don't, the binge will last much longer and you will gain more weight (fat) than when you first started dieting for the contest. If you'll notice the very large people that lose fat only to gain it back several years later?

Strategic dieting will help you. That means precontest and post contest dieting. One of the things about Jason's diet by adding more carbs, it helps reduce the sugar/sweet craves and other foods or lack of. When post contest dieting comes into play is remembering you need to keep a decent food intake and schedule the not-so-bodybuilder meal. Can you just eat one slice of pizza? Probably not. Will you be able to stop after #2 slice or will you eat so much, you're sick?

How many jars are you consuming per week? Wink My binge was for 5 weeks, all on natty PB. In my case, I did better on the second contest, but needed to stop on the final week, which I barely did.

Run to the bookstore and look for a book titled "Binge No More". You will see so many things similar to body builders in post contest binge eating and drinking (for those that dehydrate).

It is at this point the mind is a terrible thing.

How many times have you (anyone) created something by mixing dieting foods with other types of diet products just for a different taste, let's say at 3AM? I know I have. Using Muscle Provider in sugar-free Jello. That was a near disaster but when it came to mixing in the shake, now that was ok. LOL

No, seriously, you need to square up and set yourself for this next contest and prepare for off-season dieting otherwise you will set yourself up for a disaster of the wardrobe kind.

Here's another thread I posted back in 04: http://beverlynutrition.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/71960519...736048375#8736048375

self control, and dicipline. there both easy enough to say, but using them is a different story for most people.that 3 A.M. thing rings a loud bell. couldn't begin to remember how many times i've stood in the kitchen at 3 A.M. looking for something to eat but not wanting anything i found cause i was burnt out on eating the same thing day in and day out. i've never competed but i've dieted down to 6% a couple of times and HUNGRY!!!! doesn't really describe it. food can be like a drug that you are addicted to. especially on a strict diet. it's something your body is screaming for but your mind is refusing to allow it. can be stressful in the extreme.

have faith....dig deeper....it's supposed to hurt

It is good to know other competitors go through these things. My first season I did the same.
This time I'm not. Before this last show I discussed my off-season game plan with Jason.
You have to have a plan. Right now, your plan is to get it together for a little longer-you can do it-put down the jar of pb!!!
I also make a list of things I want after the show. This way I'm not just eating everything in sight trying to fix the cravings. Food is addicting.

Oh-you're right Frank. With Jason's pkwk I don't have the cravings at all the last days.
