I am a police officer in California and have competed in the bodybuilding competition in the past two Western States Police and Fire Olympics. I feel ready to get on a stage for a real show.
What do you think of preparing for two shows, one month apart, good iedea or bad. Basically looking forward to hitting the real stage in October and the Police Olympics are in August 2007. Thanks to all Be safe
Hi Garry - Welcome to the board. I spent 20 years in law enforcement myself before transitioning to consulting.
It is certainly possible to do more than one show a year. My personal preference is to only go through the contest prep-phase once a year, so when I do more than one show I try to plan them so that they are close together, usually one to two weeks apart. With four weeks between shows you will have to basically maintain your contest conditioning between the events. If done properly, you should look even tighter and better conditioned for your second show. Finding two shows that were closer together would make it a little easier on you, but your plan can be done without any problems. Good luck!
