Big Grin Sorry everyone, I have been super busy with school, work, and trainng that it has been hard for me to get on here! Not to mention my computer is a turtle! How was your show????
Things are going well. I am super tired tonight, but the last two days have been pretty high energy. I don't quite get it, but I'll take all the energy I can get. I feel like I was holding onto a little water today. I just need to cut my gum chewing down. ( I love GUM!) Frown
My show is next weekend! I am so excited! I just can't decide on whether to use pro tan, or cheat and go get the mystic spray tan at the salons. I have been hearing that girls do that. Well, I think I am going to take Rachel's advice and stick to the pro tan. Any application advice for me and my boyfriend?
Well, I am dead tired and need some sleep if I am ever going to make it through tomarrow. I have cardio, class, lift, class/lab, and more cardio! Almost there!!!! Bye for now, Jen

Definitely go with the pro tan. Mystic tan will not be enough under those lights, trust me on that one. You could do both, but I think that is just extra money wasted.

As for application, pour the pro tan into a bowl. And apply with a kitchen sponge. Make sure to get one that is somewhat soft. Using the spray and little brush they give is hopeless and tiring. JUst apply evenly and take your time. Go light over the elbows, knees, hands and feet. Trust me, the feet will soak it up and look real dark, go slow there, pretty much same for the hands. As for the face some people dont apply pro tan at all. Many women and some men use dark makeup and all the other stuff that goes with it I suppose. I just put pro tan on my face. For this I do use the little brush they give, go very light around the hair line, it will get real dark there.

Your gonna want to start Thursday night, if not Weds. If you have class on Friday, just dont cover your hands and face/neck yet. But Id start at least on Thursday. Then 3 coats on Friday and I always put one on Saturday morning then cover myself with dream tan. Sleep in old clothes, good luck,

Jason--

I did two sessions at the Magic Tan. Only because my husband was out of town and it was easier than trying to Paint myself! I still had to do the 4-5 coats of Protan on top of it. The airtan is not dark enough for me but it gave me a nice even base and the Protan came out BETTER!! There was a girl at the show who did a few sessions in the Booth and nothing else and she looked fine. I think she must of been dark complexion to pull that off. Go with the ProTan!!

Wink Hi.. I know all too well how you must be feeling..!! I'm on my 2nd of two shows - back-to-back.. so I'm at work.. painted.. sticky, stinky, hungry, tired! You name it. On the tanning - go with Pro-Tan as others stated.. I started Wednesday night, coat #1, showered Thurs. a.m. and coat #2, Thursday night #3, shower Friday a.m. - Coat #4 and Friday night coat #5. Yes.. I apply 5 coats - then Sat. a.m. - I apply Dream Tan and go to the show. In my opinion you can't be too dark..! I also don't use the Pro-Tan on my face.. I purchased very DARK makeup and apply that - on the morning of the show only, and dab on some Dream Tan to get the darker to match neck, body look. I sleep in very old clothes - loose and stained. If staying in a hotel - don't forget to bring your own towels.. or they will charge you for every stained towel and sheets!! Hange in there.. you are almost there. My first show (last weekend) I won the Womens Masters class at the NGA Natural Olympus in Buffalo NY.. now I'm on to Pittsburgh for Open and Masters again.. Saturday!!

Brochas,

How is your skin now that the dye was comming off from the 1st show? I called the protan people and they told me to exfoliate Wed and Thurs and start the dye on Thursday. I will begin to apply this afternoon after work and I just hope the spots fill in. I have dream tan, but still have not used it so I may go over with the dream tan this weekend in Pitt. By the way, what time is your poly? I am 4:30 if your close to that time I would love to meet you before the show.

Hey Sully.. I moistured heavily all week - and scrubbed a lot of the 'old dye' off. The only place I noticed it spotting and uneven was my chest. I did start the Pro-Tan last night - and another this a.m. - I've got 2 coats on so far, and it seems fine. I did notice that I'm kind of FLAT today.. I had more veins earlier this week and Sunday I was so vascular it hurt!?? Did you notice that? I just polygraphed last weekend for NGA.. Roger (promoter) said he'd accept the signed form from last weekend.. So I don't poly. But I'd love to meet you to and your family. I'll be there with my husband, and 2 sons. We'll have to meet up. Are you doing Masters and Open?? Is it is big show.. did you hear anything about it from Matt??

Thanks for the advice! I unforunatly returned the dream tan, but I am a pretty dark person right now from tanning. I am also Italian. I am starting the application process with the boyfriend Wednesday.
I am feeling a little bloated today. Yuck. I did cut back on the gum chewing though! I have to start my water shed diet I guess on Monday? I just haven't recieved it yet, I am sure it is comming though. I am so amazed at the changes I have gone through.
Congrats Brochas!!! That is sooo awsome. Good luck in Pittsburg. P.s. what is the poly? Are you referring to a lie detector test? What for? Steroid use I am assuming?
Well, I have my energy back and plan to make full use of it. I did some light legs and abs today and tomarrow I finish off my week cardio session. Monday it is all about the "zone." Have an awsome weekend! Jennifer

Hey Jennifer..So - you are in your FINAL week of contest prep! You hang in there.. it's going to be well worth it. I'm just back from the OCB in Pittsburgh.. and I'm so JACKED!! I won the entire show!! woo hoo.. I won Masters Women and Women's Open and Overall!!! This is a first for me to take an entire show. (Can you tell I'm excited! Big Grin).. Anyway..Did you get your final weeks prep from Beverly. You want to start drinking a lot of water as of today (Sunday).. through Thursday.. don't cut your water back yet. As a matter of fact, I kept water in and high right up through Friday for both my shows. Yes, the polygraph is to test against steroid use - both my shows were drug tested. Let me know how it's going. I'm sure you'll have lots of help from your boyfriend and the Bev Staff. If you need anything just yell.. I'm back to NORMAL.. now till next November..when I do a show again.

Wink Jennifer..good luck. Let us know how it went.. I'm sure you'll do great! A little late.. but YES I took supplements right up until I hit the stage and afterwards. U-40's kept me high in energy and I took about 12-15 GH Factor right before hitting the stage. I also used the Glutamine Select w/water and salt about 30 mins. prior to pre-judge - this with a carbo-force drink produced a HUGE pump and veins.. Let us know.. have fun!!

Hey everyone! I WON! It was a very small show though. I won my round because I was the only contestant, but I also won overall. It was so much fun. I am actually glad I did a smaller show first because I am not lean enough. I am 5'6' and weighed in at 125 and 15% bf. I would like to drop more bf. My top half looked really good, but my lower body is so tough for me. In particular my inner thigh area.
I also need a different showday strategy, I went a bit flat even w/ my precontest carb goo mix and held onto some water.
However, I am very happy that I did this. I ready to prepare for the next show! I want to improve.
Brochas, would you mind telling me your final week strategy as well as your pre-pre/contest diet? I don't want to ever go back to where I was. Before I did this show 4 months ago, I was like 150lbs. Today I ate some hershey's kisses and stuff I am not used to and realized that I can't handle eating junk anymore! I feel so ill today!!!! (Not that I was trying to stray, but more like a treat for dieting so hard.) I truely enjoy my plain, healthy food much better! Well, I just wanted to share my good news. Thanks for the support everyone!
