Trunks and posing

How soon before the show should I worry about posing trunks? I am currently around 180, 8 - 10 percent body fat (suprailiac is 7mm but abdominal is 13mm) and my show is not until July 2004 ... is it too early to worry about it? I'm concerned my REAR may change and lose significant fat so what fits now might not fit later!

Also, re: posing routines. I know that the mandatories are something to become an expert in. I know the routine is, too, but I am sure there is some point of overkill. About how long before the show should I be concerned about having music picked out and a routine starting to form?

Thanks for all of the advice.

Jeremy

Wait for the trunks...as far as posing goes...id begin to familiarize myself with the 9 mandatories...as everyone seems to hit their most muscular different due to bodyshape and muscle density, etc. As for the routine...Id wait a bit as your musical desire may change...but be listening and thinking about it...how do you want to display your physique...

I would have to agree with Jason.
When I began prepping, I practiced the 'relaxed' position the most.
Posing is an awesome workout ;-)

Jeremy,

I suggest purchasing the Perfect Posing tape. It is very difficult to re-learn posing techniques once you have practiced it a million times the wrong way. BEgin your posing journey with the correct information. Be skeptical when told too many different ways to do one pose. Pose in the mirror, then with out it.

Each day you should try to better your physique, whether by training, diet, or posing.

Trunks are an after thought. The guys are right. Buy them later when you have about 3-4 weeks to go before the contest, so the fit will be right. SmileLet us know how we may help you.

Already ahead of you! I purchased the perfect posing tape awhile back and have been following it. However, I also know that my own critical eye is not going to be as knowledgeable as a judges, so I am finding posing coaches here in Atlanta to help out as well. Thanks for the advice!

Jeremy,

Good luck with your contest. Presentation is very important. People have lost and won shows just because they did or did not present their physiques properly. Glad to see u purchased the video!

Sandy is right the very first show I did there was a guy in the middleweights with a very good physique..conditioned and nice size. But, I dont think he even bothered to hit a pose before that day. He was awful, on the relaxed pose he stood with his toes in and his hands completely to his side swinging...it was almost embarrasing to watch. Even at that he still took second...tells you how good his physique was...but his posing was so bad the judges couldnt give him first...Im pretty sure Sandy judged this it was the Bluegrass in 2002. Anyways...get those mandatories down pat. Good luck,

JT--
