I am about 10 weeks out from my first competition of the season. I last competed in March of 09. Since then I moved, got married and started a new job. Needless to say during all of that I went from about 125 to 140. After saying thats enough I need to bust down and get ready for next season I'm at about 131. For about 7 weeks I did a more traditional in depth diet with all real food and no shakes, eating 7 times a day. that did not work at all for me!! I was gaining weight if anything. So I went back to the same diet I did last time I competed that worked great, except that I uped the chicken portion. My weekends have been crazy with driving back to where we are from for funerals so it has not been the most consistant thing, however I am not losing wieght like I did last time. Below is my diet. Last time within 2 weeks I had lost about 7 pounds, and this time I only lost about 3-4 over the past 2 weeks. PLEASE HELP!!!

Bfast
4 egg whites
1 egg
1 slice pepper jack cheese (60-80 cal)
1 small grapefruit

Snack
UMP vanilla shake 1 scoop
1 tbs peanut butter

Lunch
4 oz chicken
1/2 c broc or green beans

snack
UMP vanilla shake 1 scoop
1 tbs peanut butter

dinner
4 oz chicken
1/2 cup broc or veggies

1.5-2 gallons of water a day

I take vitamin e in the morning, 3 flaxseed oils a day with each meal, 1 milk thistle a day, and fiber.

I cannot seem to get past this 131 mark and have only 10 weeks. Any recommendations would be amazing!!

If this diet worked great for you the last time, it will work great again. If you've lost 3-4 lbs in the first two weeks, that is incredible progress and would not indicate you need a change. You're comparing your first two weeks loss to last time, but losing 7 lbs in two weeks at your weight is well above the norm and not what you can expect in two weeks on a diet.

All this is assuming you're training and doing cardio sufficiently too.

Are you supplementing correctly with Lean Out, Density, 7-Keto, Glutamine Select, etc? This is critical to retaining your muscle and forcing your body to cut into your stored bodyfat.

I guess that's true. I'm just getting frustrated. I have no patience. I am using Lean out, glutamine, milk thistle, flaxseed, and b-complex. I am considering the ultra 40, I've read really great reviews and one lady I spoke with said she really liked it. Any thoughts??

I definitely agree with Steven. If you've lost 3-4 lbs. in two weeks that is enormous progress. There is nothing to get frustrated about. If you want to use Ultra 40 you've got to remember that each tab contains 2 grams of protein. The calories from the Ultra 40 then should be accounted for. If your protein intake is already high, then the calories would be processed but it would still account for extra calories.

Once you hit a plateau, I would switch up and use Muscle Provider instead of UMP, and instead of your final meal on Monday and Thursday I would do a carb meal of 1 medium banana, 4 ounce sweet potato, 1/4 cup oatmeal, 1 cup green veggie, and 1 tbls. real butter or one ounce almonds.

Good luck and don't be impatient! Big Grin

I forgot to put my carb up in there. I do that every third night, it's 1/2 c oatmeal, 1 tbs natural peanut butter, 1 small grapefruit, 3-4 oz sweet potatoe. I am at exactly 131 now. I'm exhausted and don't know what else to do. I might try adding a few more carbs in with lunch or dinner or somewhere. I've gotta do something though because i can't think at work and keep snapping at my son over nothing. UGH!!
