Would it be advantageous or detrimental to start the beef and grapefruit 5x per day say on Monday instead of Thurs.????

If it is advantageous my plan would be:
Mon & Tues
4 oz. beef + 1/2 grapefruit + 6 Ultra 40's 5x
W & Th
4x beef & gf combo + carb-up meal
Fri
beef & gf combo 5x

What are the experts thoughts on this??? My reason is #1 I want to come in a little harder this time and #2 I naturally hold a lot of subcutaneous water. The rest of the week will be the typical Beverly water manipulation and potassium loading etc....

I would love to hear what others think about this?

That is a good question. Regarding water and electrolytes, both play a role in your question, the body will adjust to a change in 24-48 hours. So if you cut water or sodium you have a few days before the body just adjusts. This is the reason cutting water days out or salt days (some do it weeks out) has no effect come competiiton day.

Things to do to harden up. If you are lean I would have some beef early in the week. Go with the lean varieties, 92% fat free. Try upping your Ultra 40 intake. This will dramatically increase vascaularity and hardness.

The two biggest things you can do..
Have a scoop of Muscle Provider with each meal. Increase Branch Chain (Muscle Mass between meals and Muscularity with meals) intake.

The grapefruit can be diuretic (as can the beef and the increased U40)and I think it is best saved for the last two days. Again we are not going for diuresis (sp?) at this point as the body will have adjusted by comp day later in the week.

Keep water high at this time as well.

Ok so if I am understanding your advice correctly Ray -- I SHOULD NOTstart the beef & grapefruit regimen on Monday. I should stick with my fat loss menu until Thursday. I should however 2x my Ultra 40's (which I planned to do) as well as take Muscle Mass between meals? I currently am taking 3 Muscularity and 3 Ultra 40's with all my meals. How many Muscle Mass between meals?

That is correct. I would maintain the fatloss until Thursday.

Double the Ultra 40 with meals.

Muscle Mass between meals, how much do you weigh?

Muscularity double with meals.

You can also double up on Energy Reserve, Lean Out and GH Factor if using them. Same with Synergy.

If possible I would add Muscle Provider (a half scoop or scoop in water) to your meals as well. This helps harden up as well.

Some times I will count how many of each product I have left. Divide that by the number of times it is to be taken until the show. That is how much I will increase things. Now if you have 400 Ultra 40s obviously this would be ridiculous but you see where I am going.

I think I got it now -- one more question -- if I add MP to my beef & gf meals -- I think I might be gettting too many calories??? Or shouldn't I be concerned about those the last two days??? I love choc. MP and would gladly have a scoop if it will help me the final two days.

Oh and we are Beverly Supplements Central here -- our last order was the supps we needed for the final four weeks PLUS what we needed going into our post contest lean gain phase. So I don't think I will be doing the division method to decide what to take. I'll just double up the appropriate supps. Hey and thanks for your input.

Frown no one else wanted to take a stab at my question(s)

My take is that if you are ready, meaning lean enough, the extra 110 calories at a couple meals will not hurt anything.

If trying to make a weight class (scale watchign the last week usually spells disaster) things would be different.

But from your emails I am hearing you are lean and looking to harden up, not drop more weight. So I would go with it.

Beverly usually recommends this from what I recall as well. Again only to those whose condition is where it needs to be.

Im 116 lbs, is it Ok for me to dubble on Mass Amino and Ultra 40? Im taking 3 of each with meal

I wouldn't double up on Mass or BCAA's (neither Muscularity nor Muscle Mass). They are more for lean Mass Support, but don't have a big impact on how you will look. Doubling the U40 and Synergy will however make a difference. If you still have some last minute fat to lose, you could try doubling the fat loss sups as well, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make either way.

The last few days, you shouldn't be too worried about calories. Small changes will not cause you to add or lose much bodyfat at that point. You should be more concerned with the immediate results of what you eat rather than the long term effects. As such, I would add MP to each meal Friday, and possibly thurs. I have done both and had good results with both approaches. As a sidenote, Vanilla MP has fewer calories per scoop, and more importantly, less sodium, so I would recommend using that instead of chocolate if you have it around.

Finally, I agree with ETX on the beef and grapefruit. Save it for the last few days. If you start cutting water too soon, your body will adapt.
