I have been training pretty hard for the past year losing a ton of weight and getting into better overall condition. I know everyone here is very serious at competing and I wonder if I could do it. Im no huge guy and currently not cut up however working on getting down now. I am hoping maybe someone can take a look at my body type and current physique and tell me what they think and if i could compete anytime soon. I was thinking of doing a competition in 2008. Just looking for an honest opinion so no feelings hurt if i have no shot. As you will see from the photos im pumped to be where i am.

Thanks

Sure why not? Take a look at my article, look at my before photos. I was scrawny, not particularly muscular. A serious diet and training program can do wonders. http://www.bodybuildingworld.com/vol9_2/jtheo.html. Now click my link below, night and day.

You just have to dedicate yourself to the idea and diet. So what if you aren't the biggest or most ripped guy your first show out. Really, its a contest against yourself and no one else. Everyone likes to win, but it took my three tries to win my class as a bantam.

As a critique its hard to tell since you aren't flexing. Your chest looks to have potential to be a good bodypart, your arms seem to be lacking, have a nice V, but we can always add more to the lats, need more shoulders (who doesnt). Can't see the wheels, so I cant comment.

BTW, congrats on your transformation, keep it up.

Good Luck,

ok well then i may give it a shot and go for it. even if i dont win i can still say i looked incredible on the stage. I guess i should cut down to about 7% then try to gain some lean mass over a 12 month stretch then cut back to competition form?

How long did it take you to add that kind of mass?

I trained for 4-5 years prior to stepping on stage. But really I spun my wheels for 3-4 of those years. Only when I got on a good eating & supplement plan did my weight skyrocket, that was about 1.5 yrs time.

Lift heavy, eat right, supplement right and rest. Youll grow.

Only you can decide if you really want to do it. But, what you propose is a fine plan.
Good Luck!

I guess just eat alot more clean foods same as i have been and ill be fine. Im going to bust my rear end for a year and get some good size. but first get as lean as possible so i dont get over 10-12% ever again. thanks for the input. Beverly supplements have been great for me thus far so ill keep on going with them.

krissa i happen to agree with you so i think that this entire year i will be trying to pack on as much muscle and as little fat as possible and about june i will be calling beverly and figuring out what they think i should do the 9 months before the northern. I was thinking of doing the northern this year but my wedding and honeymoon screwed that up good. oh well i have a year to train and come on stage the best i can be. so time will tell but im setting a goal.
