hi everyone,
this is my last week and i have increased my water to 2.5 gallons a day. but i have started to get cramps when i'm sleeping. i haven't changed anything else in my diet yet. is this because i'm flushing more water out and along with it sodium and potassium? has anyone had this problem before? if so how was it corrected?

thanks
todd

Yes an increase in both water consumption and diuresis can cause you to create an imbalance with your electrolyte levels and result in cramping.

A few things that you can do to counter this are:

Drink regular spring water, not distilled water, you want the minerals in the normal water.

Do not reduce sodium intake, in fact you could even bump it just a little, then reduce, but do not eliminate it, starting on Thursday.

Continue to take a good multivitamin and you can also supplement with calcium and magnesium.

1/2 a banana would give you some added potassium. The idea is to stay in balance with your electrolytes. Cramping is a sign of imbalance and/or low electrolyte levels.

Good luck in your final week - stay focused and write down your plan day-by-day and meal by meal. We all get a little forgetful in the final week and it helps me a lot to have that list handy.
