I am currently a little over 8 weeks out from my competition. At this point I have done NO CARDIO. I anticipate adding cardio in around 4-5 weeks out. I plan on doing either wind sprints or stepmill intervals. Here is where I need the "expert" advice.

What should I take and how long should I wait before my cardio? What should I take after?

6:30 AM 20 minutes HIIT or Sprints

I take 2LO/2GH/1ER before Meal #1

I lift either at 12N or 1PM -- I am currently doing 1 scoop creatine select before, 15 Muscle Mass during, 2 scoop glutamine select after.

If I add a 2nd HIIT cardio for 20 min. in the PM again what should I take before and after and should I do this before or after my final meal #5?

Any and all ideas would be welcome and appreciated.

Boy, I thought I was the only crazy one that does intervals on the Stepmill.

Have you tried Musclelean (2-3) 1/2 hour before cardio sessions? Glutamine Select is good after cardio, it helps with recovery.

Hopefully someone else will chime in with their advice.

Can't take MuscLean -- but thanks. Stepmill intervals are my fav!

This is my regime: get up @ 6:15 (ish) and take 3 GH/2 LO/ 5 gr Glutamine and 1 tbls. Twinlab L Carnitine and 1000 mg Vitamin C. (I will switch to E.Reserve closer to competition) I do cardio to warm up for my weight work out. (As I get older I find this works better for me) I take 5 BCAA, then work out, taking 5 more during the work out.

If I do more cardio later in the day I repeat what I did in the AM. As I get closer to competition I drop the L-Glutamine before the evening session. After cardio I have some BCAA and then before bed 2-3 GH/ 2 Calcium Mag and 5 gr L Glutamine.

Vanessa: Stepmill kicks BUTT.. literally! How/what do you do with your intervals? I've been varying regular step / skip a step to do step-ups for a min. - then very fast step 1 min. That's one interval. And, I've also bumped the level up from 7-15;15-7, etc. anything to keep it high and interesting! I do similar to Leslie on supps.. LO/ER/GH.. L-Glutamine, BCAAs, antiox with supps.. hope this helps! Val
