Thanks for asking Dwayne!

So far so good. I'm a true newbie. I've lost 19 lbs. in 11 1/2 weeks, with at least 10 more to go in the next 5 weeks. That will put me at about 13% bf - I know that's too high, but realistically, it's the best I can do.

Training is good, though strength has decreased some. I'm doing a few days a week of 2-a-day HIIT cardio sessions - that seems to have really jump-started my fat loss.

Lessons learned:
1. Start dieting sooner
2. Stay leaner in the off season
3 - and this is the biggie - stay 'mentally focused'

I was really dragging about 2 weeks ago and was ready to quit. I was fatigued, I was disappointed with my progress (or lack of), I was unmotivated, then I hurt my back. . . I had to get an attitude adjustment. I sat down one night and wrote down my goals and decided right then and there I AM DOING THIS!

Ever since - I'm pumped!

I'm practicing my posing - lol, such a newbie! Got my posing suit - UGH - bottom fits, top too big - why can't it be the other way around? Big Grin

Again - thanks for asking. How about you?

Hey Biker Chick - Way to go hanging tough and sticking with your goals! This is not easy - and the first time comes with some extra anxiety because you just don't really know what to expect. We are here for you - don't be afraid to rant and rave a bit, ask questions or just share your thoughts. One of the biggest benefits of this board is as a support network.

I'm sure that you will look great and I know that you will learn a lot from the experience. Each year becomes a new set of goals - refined based on what we did and accomplished the year before. You have already done very well and have accomplished a lot just by making the committment and sticking with it. Hang in there!

Dwayne - thanks - I've replied.

VA - thank you so much. Bless your heart! I really appreciate the kind words. I'm happy with my progress, just running out of time. And, you're right, I'm looking at this as a learning experience so that I can be better next time.

I'm just gonna keep on keepin on, and wherever I end up, I end up!

And . . btw . . it's only 5 weeks until I get a chocolate chip cookie!!!!! Big Grin
