There have a been a few threads regarding Olympic Tan in the past. Try the search function and you should be able to retrieve them.
I used Olympic Tan for the first of my two shows last september. Keep in mind that i'm Ronnie Coleman's color naturally. I used one coat of Olympic Tan the evening and day of the contest followed by Olympic Tan posing oil before stage. When i later looked at photos from the show, i did not like my color. Two weeks later, i did my normal 4 coats of ProTan followed by Olympic Tan posing oil for the stage. My coloring was much better. I prefer the ProTan/Olympic Tan posing oil approach. One benefit to Olympic Tan is that it's MUCH easier and MUCH less messy to apply than ProTan. However, for me, ProTan looks better. |

Fitdoc,
I agree. Pro-Tan base and Dream Tan. A good thick application of Dream Tan just may make all the diffence in showing just a little more definition. It's like your $125 auto paint to a custom metalic show car paint job! Frank Frank "Lift and be happy. Lift harder and be excited...Get Excited, Get Big!!!" |

Careful with the Dream Tan my friend. Cake too much of that stuff on and you'll find that your definition and cuts will blurr out. Always use the #2 formula. I usually do what Fitdoc does with the Pro tan - 4 coats beginning on Thu and I'm done. Or, 2 coats Pro Tan and a very light coat of Dream Tan backstage prior to my light pump up. Touch up as needed for the nite festivities. ANH Aram N. Hamparian Pro Natural Bodybuilder |

It doesn't taste at all like PB! I had the problem of not putting on enough. I would look at photos and I was still way too white. I always loved walking into convenience stores after prejudging. Frank Frank "Lift and be happy. Lift harder and be excited...Get Excited, Get Big!!!" |

Hey Frank... any chance you may have accidently applied the peanut butter, thinking it was the Dream Tan? Wouldn't put it past you especially if in a carb depleted state.

I used Olympic Tan at Nationals in November and was very happy with it. The foam application is very easy, allows you to apply more or less at one time and one bottle lasted for about 3 coats. I still had to apply many layers to get dark enough, but it gave a very nice, rich color. If you are doing photo shoots and only apply 1-2 coats, it wears off like a tan. Otherwise, with multiple coats you still get the nasty wearing off look.

Deciding when you start the tanning process, is dependant on how dark your base tan is. If you're naturally dark, like I am then 2 coats on Friday usually suffices for me. If you're white as a ghost, then it would probably be a good idea to begin Wednesday, or 2 coats Thu (morn + nite) and the same on Friday. Do not shower on Friday night, and when you wake up on Sat, the body's natural oils will fuse with the Pro tan, deepening the color.
Dream Tan is usually applied backstage prior to pump up. If using Dream Tan, use the #2 formula. I apply a light coat then proceed to pump up and work up a sweat. Posing oil is not needed or recommended since the product has a natural sheen to it. If you have the opportunity, stand outside in the sun to amplify more of its glistening effects, and your vascularity as well. I am not aware of the newer Dream Tan posing oils and whether or not they can be used with the tanning product. When using Pam, make sure you use it with the Pro Tan, as the Dream Tan has a tendency to smear and blotch with posing oil. Just don't do what I've done a couple times in the past... spray on the garlic/olive oil flavor Pam. You won't make too many friends with that method. ANH Aram N. Hamparian Pro Natural Bodybuilder |

who puts the final coat on dreamtan on you backstage? also, what about the hosting convention centers that don't allow tanning products in the building?

quote: You can usually apply the Dream Tan on yourself. However, for applying on my back, I enlist a fellow competitor or expeditor. If the venue does not allow tanning products, apply the Pro Tan as mentioned above, at home or in your hotel room, then apply another coat before you leave for the show. Take the Dream Tan(if you still want to use it) with you. If the backstage area is in close proximity to a backdoor, apply the Dream Tan outside. Helpful to bring a companion or two with you to the show. ANH Aram N. Hamparian Pro Natural Bodybuilder |
