I am a 29 year old mother of 2 who kissed that baby weight goodbye and now I'm looking for a challenge! I'v always been into lifting and fitness and now I'd like to prove to myself that I can be a figure competitor...but, since I stay home with our children we are on a tight budget! How do you suggest that I train without a trainer and dietician? What things are a must to invest in? What things are not completley necessary? And since I've got the 2 kids I can only get to the gym for 1 hour a day 6 days a week- shoud I spend my time lifting at the gym and do cardio outside? I am 5'9" 161 Lbs. and pretty lean, although I do carry the majority of my body fat in my butt and upper thighs. Help!! I want to compete!!
Your diet can help manage your time in the gym. It can allow you too focus on your weight training by elliminating the need for hours of cardio. I would suggest focusing on short rest periods as well as a few supersets in the gym. This will keep your heart rate up and provide some cardio response. The supplements I would recomend for you are: (knowing the family plan..:O) 1) Lean out = 2 before meals 2) UMP = snacks/on the goo shake or pudding * the meals in your day should relate to when you are most active and taper off carbs as you wind down. Your body will respond great too the Beverly supplements. My Nutrition clients love the results Beverly provides and thier diets correspond to thier goals + lifestyle. You can do it! IF you can beleive ...you can achieve!
Superman- Thanks that is great advice!! Are fiberous vegis a freebee...meaning can I eat a lot of salad if I'm feeling munchy?? Of course I'd limit the amount of dressing and I'd only use low calorie/low fat....
Better to eat small meals and keep your blood sugar stable in order to fight cravings. The UMP will help in between meals. make a mudding or even make freezer pops with them out of an icecube tray. Your veggies will keep you fuller when they acompany a meal of good lean protien. Don't fear fats, but modeate them. Fats when carbs are lower will help too. take care
Suits can be very expensive...but more than a few people buy great suits used (which often means worn 1 time) and save a ton of money. Try diva exchange (http://www.divaexchange.com/)
