Im having trouble with razor burn/rash on my legs.

How do you guys shave or get rid of of your body hair without those "bumps" or a rash breaking out?

My arms dont do it nor do my legs below my knees but thighs and up to my waist breaks out.

A few "tips" that I have recieved - don't know if they will help you:

1. Don't shave as soon as you get into the shower. You should shave at the end of your shower, so the hair/follicles have time to soak and soften. It's easier to remove this way.

2. Don't shave dry or using just soap. Make sure you use shaving cream, and lots of it.

3. Use a brand new razor. The older the blade, the better the chances of nicks and razor burn.

4. After shaving, moisturize.

5. Don't wear tight fitting clothing afterwards - this can irritate.

I used a Mach3 razor set with what I think is a very great shaving creme, AVEENO Therapeutic Shave Gel for: sensitive skin, irritated skin, razor bumps and has no added fragrance. It is Dermatologist recommended. Go to any Walmart, Walgreens they should have it.

I dont shave my legs with a razor for comp. All you need is a mustache trimmer, and this will be short enough. You can even call Beverly, they told me the same thing in their precomp program held at BI headquarters.

I dont care what you do, your upper legs willbreak out a bit if you bic them. And if you do it and put on clothes, watch out, your will be red everywhere. It sucks.

I agree with the above tips.

To start out, use a heard trimmer or home hair cutter. Then, once you have the hair short, then go over it with a razor. Once you shave it, repeat frequently enough to keep growth to a stuble (about weekly, give or take). I start about 4 weeks out and then shave once per week until my comp. Don't shave anything but your face after Tues/Wed before your comp as the skin irritation can cause you to hold watter.

Having just completed my last shave aside from touch-ups before my show this week, I would like to re-iderate:

4. After shaving, moisturize.

At least you don't shave your legs, then have to reshave your chest because it has grown out again Big Grin

An electric shaver can be use, too.

thanks guys. You're right, its mostly my upper legs but the worst is the back of my legs. I guess its from sitting, makes them irritated. Weird.

I travel a lot with my job and was always wondering what to do with those little bottles of hotel shampoo - that stuff works great with the Mach 3 razor. I just lotion down afterwards to prevent the drying from the shampoo.
