Good luck! Glad you found a show. Where is it? I am not real competitive either and have entered my shows with the attitude to have fun and do my best. No pressure to win (but it is always nice!) Rachel is doing my diet for me and it seems to be working so far. I am making the transition from figure to BB (or at least I am going to try Your attitude is super, I am sure you will do great! There is loads of info (sometimes too much) out there for contest prep. That combined with the super info on the Board here (and all the great people) will help you be successful. I had my first Figure show in April 2004 and I only gave myself 12 weeks to train (diet) and I could have done better but I really didn't know what to expect so I took the first show as a practice round and I did win (4th)... 2nd show was October of that same year and I only needed help with the nutritional part of it because I train all year round. I lost 14 pounds difference from the prior show and 6% BF so that was huge for me and I felt tight. There are always going to be differences between the girls and yourself no matter what. some people can hold extra fat alot easier and better than most but if you work hard enough you'll be up there right with them. I got 3rd on my 2nd show and I do feel I got scammed because everybody in the crowd said so but thats okay with me because it just makes me push myself a little bit harder each time and plan to do better the next time around. I do plan on going to Middle-Weight BB instead of figure just because I can retain Muscle alot easier than keeping it lean. I just wanted to give my input on this matter and wish you good luck in your training career. I too compete in NPC and there isn't anything wrong with that. No matter what show you are in, if you don't win, you'll always think that you should have done better than the girl that did....so don't worry about it....Have a great time, enjoy meeting new people back stage because everybody is in the same boat you are no matter how much practice they have. Just always remember not to let your placing bring you down....I let that happen to me the first time and I got real depressed but then I realized, its just "something to do" for me and to keep me tip top shape throughout the year. I love challenges and the shows are always a good place to start. Good Luck Cruel & Unusual Punishments! | |||
