I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on what to eat or more importantly what not to eat the day of my show. I have a little trouble with my controlling my abdominals right at the pelvis, maybe from poor posture, having kids, etc. I have worked hard to strenghten the muscles and I want to eat things that are less likely to cause bloating, you know I want that flat stomach I wake up with in the morning during the show. Just about anything fatty and sugary will do on contest day (yes, the same stuff you avoid at other times of the year). It helps fill your muscles out and increases vascularity. Some common foods are pancakes and syrup for breakfast and snickers bars, or peanut butter and honey on rice cakes. Another thing that beverly recommends is called "Muscle Goo":
Mix equal amounts of Muscle Provider or Ultra Size, Honey, and Peanut Butter. It comes out like a fudge consistency and tastes great! Eat 1-2 Tbsp. every 20 minutes upto prejudging.
Keep in mind, these suggestions are for bodybuilding. I'm not sure if there are modifications for figure/fitness if that is what you are asking about, but I would imagine it is similar. The main thing is to avoid too much excess sodium as well as foods that you know you don't tolerate (i.e. milk products if you are lactose intollerant).
Jimel- I did a trial run last week for a show that I have coming up. I also ate the beef and grapefruit Thur. and Fri. I was very pleased with my results when I woke up Saturday morning. My stomach was flat even at the bottom. Good luck on your show!
