I'm competing in my first bodybuilding contest next Saturday June 27 and Im looking for some advice on pump up routines before pre judge. What exercises you prefer and what to stay away from, also how much to do without over pumping up. Should I pump up first then oil up or vice versa. I appreciate any advice from you experienced competitors.

Thank you,
Steve

Pump up. Don't overdo it because you'll lose some or A LOT of definition.

10 lbs for curls, some push ups and concentrate more on the holding of a pose after you pump up.

Definitely no leg work.

Here is what I did at my last 2 shows and it worked well for me!

16 synergy
handfuls of raisins or clif shot

band/db curls 3x20
db presses 3x20
db shrugs 3x20
band raises 3x20
calf raises 3x50
partner towel pulls/supersetted with db pushups (lots of these right before I went out)

flex and hold poses hard!
light pam spray before going out

Thanks guys for your input, one other question if you take the Bev Goo or eat a snickers bar or whatever you eat before pre judging do you repeat that later before you go out for the night routine.
Thanks again

Take along either very light weights or elastic "physiotherapy" or "dyno" stretchy bands. Contract every muscle as tight as you can. Go through your poses and hold them. To bring out vascularity - sugar in the form of glucose i.e. jelly beans, jelly babies (UK)
DO NOT PUMP UP YOUR LEGS - other competitors will not tell you not to do this if you have never competed before as they will smooth over with water.
Shoulders-side and front raises
Biceps - curls with weights or band under foot
Chest - press-ups, squeeze muscles in pose
Back-band round handle or pole and pull band as though doing seated cables
Triceps-kickbacks
Some calf raises
Couple of squats just to pump up glutes - A COUPLE

I normally take 15-20 Muscle Synergy, or GH Factor, 15-20 min. prior to going on stage. I also eat a snickers bar 20min. or so prior to hitting the stage. The snickers has the suger, fat (from peanuts), and sodium, to cover all the bases, and its small, and dense, not to bloat you. I also take a pinch of salt just prior to pull a little sub water from under the skin... Don't pump too much, it will put to much blood to areas, and blurr definition...Good Luck!!!
