I was just wondering if I still should take a dose of Glutamine select on my non-trainig days, since I am so calorie restricted right now? If so, when would be the optimal time to take it (I usually sip one scoop on training days). Also, is one scoop/day enough for a 127 lb female?
Thanks!

fitdzin,

Now is the most critical time to increase your intake of glutamine and bcaa's. On a calorie restricted diet, with hard training, cardio, other stresses, etc. using more Glutamine Select is optimal. Bcaa's, on a hypo-caloric diet is going to stave off catabolism. I would definitely try taking a scoop before training, 2 scoops during, and another scoop post training. If cost effective, I'd also take a scoop upon awakening or before breakfast, and again before bed. Glutamine causes a reaction by the liver (there is a term for this) to increase anabolic activity, heightening protein symthesis.

Last year, when I came in 3rd at the NBI/PRO AM, I was 156lbs. at 4.2% bodyfat at 4 weeks out. I started megadosing BCAA's and increased my consumption of Glutamine Select around my workouts. Two days prior to the show I was 158lbs. @ 3.8% bodyfat. Now, to be fair, there probably were other factors involved, but man, I would never ever be without my GS pre-contest!!
