What sources are you quoting from? Net carbs? That's what some of the Atkin's dieters or other low carb dieters use when mixing in carbs with fiber, such as the use of soy flour to offset the carbs from wheat. I don't use net carbs in my counting. Frank

I just have been seeing on alot of food supplements such as food bars, they say on the label 20g carbs but in the advertising it may say 3g net carbs. or impact carbs. I also, count total carbs in my diet but this just confusses me. thanks for your reply. J

Consider most of those bars as candy, especially if you're precontest. I would suggest making your meal easy to transport, such as a packet of tuna with an apple. The rest of the stuff is just that...shhhtuff. It isn't really harmful, at least, not yet, but it isn't something you want to use during a contest diet. The closer you get to contest, the more you want to eat clean, and stay away from processed or refined foods. More and more supplements have to disclose the amount of "sugar alcohol" or glyercol, basically, a bunch of stuff that has been added and previously was not counted as calories, or "hidden". So, net carbs, impact carbs and so forth are used to justify the added calories not previously disclosed. Frank
