For the last six years using Beverly I have allways used the last week carb up way that Mark R. set me up with, where you eat a standard carb up meal spread throughout the day wed. and a double carb up meal spread out thur. and all Beef and 1\2 grapefruit on fri. I want to maybe try something a little different this time, I hear of alot of people doing other methods, I,m never really Quite filled out on contest day like I feel I could be. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..

Hi Bob, as you know our bodytypes differ somewhat but I usually do what you described. I've tried doing only beef and grapefruit for both Thursday and Friday, but I flatten out horribly. My carbs are virtually non-existant the Friday - Tuesday before the show. On Wednesday beginning with the 4th meal, I carb up until my final meal on Thursday. Friday its beef/grapefruit and I use a fattier ground, more like 85% lean.

If you feel you're not filling out properly, I'd look into taking in a moderate amount of carbs on the Tuesday before your show on into Thursday. Or just do what you usually do but have a couple of carb meals before you hit the stage. Something like pancakes and syrup, and later on sweet potato, rice and ground beef.

Good luck to you and hope you and your family are well!

Aram, Thanks alot for replying. Its great to hear from you. My show is tomarrow morning, Iadded a couple extra sweet potatoes yesterday one to meal #1 and one to meal #6. And I took your advice for todays meals, I actually switched to a fairly lean cut of London Broil, 6 oz. for all my 6 meals, ground beef kind of bothers my stomach after my Gallbladder surgery. I'm hoping the traces of fat in the London Broil will fill me out more. I think I'm also going to add a bag of white rice to my last meal of the night, tonight. And I'll adjust accordingly sat. Well dude once again it's been great hearing from you, I hope your health is ok, and It would be great to see you back up in N.Y. in oct. I'll keep you posted.

I am new to the Beverly system and I'm 5 weeks out from my competition, I was able to get enough info for the diet from the articles online but not for the last week, can you give me some insight? This will be my 5th competition and I always end up too flat or bloaty. I have eaten 6 meals of 4 oz chicken breast and 1/2 sweet potato the day before, I know that doesn't work so here I am with Beverly! Thank You!!!! Big Grin

Bob...glad to read that you'll be coming to NY again this October...It's always good to see the veins running through your back Smile

I'll actually be going out to NC to do a show on October 20th (week b4 INBF, Poughkeepsie NY show..which I am also doing). Carolina Clash...A few guys I know from the BB.com boards are competing so I figured I'd take the trek and use it as a good warm up for the following weekend.

Anyway, How'd your last show go for you?? How many times you competing this yr?

Regards,

Gianni
