Hi! Just wondering-doea anyone supplement with flaxseed oil? It was not on my diet plan but I have been using it up until now? How much? Is it best to drink a liquid supplement meal after lifting and/or cardio? Just wanted to see if anyone could help me out!!!! Thanks so much! Sherry
Sherbabe, Flaxseed oil is a great fat source. You can mix it in your shakes, pour it on your salads ect. Your probably going to want to take it 2-3 times a day, depending on your goals. As far as your question about post workout, a protien shake is definately what you want here. What kind is also going to depend on your goals, but a quick absorption of protien is key. However this is not the time to use Flaxoil the fat will slow it down. Hope this helps a little.
heh, my dietition has me taking it with my last meal, 3 of them. Why? My last meal is 4oz. meat 2cup vegs. I am trying to get more definition, and lose bodyfat.
Two months ago I began a bulk-up program on my own, but didn't include any flax supplements. A month into it I noticed I was frequently getting sick (mostly just small colds). Both a Beverly advisor and a trainer at my gym suggested taking some kind of omega fat supplements.
I've been taking 6 Bev Flax a day (3 am, 3 pm), and have hardly had a sniffle since (and it's allergy season!).
thanks I have not been sick but my children have maybe this will help me also in that area.I have been very tired as of late, would that have any affect.
You don't want to take Flax Oil with your morning meal or your post-workout shake/meal. The intent of the morning meal is to quickly get protein back into your system after "fasting" all night long. The intent of the post-workout shake is also to quickly get protein back into your system. Fat slows absorbtion.

Many of our Lean Gain/Fat Loss diets include a significant amount of dietary fat with meal #1, and I have also included Ultra Size in my post workout shake before. I do agree that one should take in protein first thing in the morning and post workout, but it is not the standard to avoid fat like the plague during these times. I think it just depends upon the individual’s specific training goal. I have had a great deal of success with the aforementioned guidelines.
I typically have 1 tsp flax with all of my whole food meals. Meals 1,3,and 6. And this goes for off season or pre-contest. Fish oil is a good product also, right now I am taking fish oil with meal 3 since I was able to get it in capsules which makes it easy to take to work.
