I use the 96% beef and have added less sauce than usual and its not too bad and i use the the Tobasco brand chili sauce, and use your own baked chips and thats a pretty healthy meal with some FF Kraft shredded cheddar on top!

Super Meaty Chili

Ingredients: For LARGE pot
3-4 lbs - lean steak diced in cubes (looks a little like dog food once chopped)
2 cans – large cans diced tomatoes (without seeds if you can find it)
1 can – large of tomato sauce
1 can – small can chicken broth
1 – jalapeno pepper (poke about 4 holes in it with a knife – just small holes so the flavor can seep out – don’t cut big enough for body or seeds to come out)
3 cans – chili beans (I use 2 cans chili beans + 1 can kidney beans)
1 can – diced chilies (if you like them)
Cayenne pepper
Salt
1-2 packets of your favorite chilli seasoning mix

You’ll need:
Large pot
Skillet

In large pot (on medium to medium/low heat) pour in the chicken broth and put the chili pepper in to “float”. The pepper will stay in until towards the end. Take it out when it gets soggy/soft and looks like the skin is starting to peel.

In skillet, sprinkle with a little cayenne pepper and “grey” the first part of your meat. You’ll probably have to do this about 4 times because of the amount of meat you’ll be using (like browning, but you don’t want it to get completely brown, as it will be tough once it cooks for a while.) Once you are finished with each batch, drain off the excess fluid and put in the pot of broth.

Once all the steak is in the large pot add chilli packet/s. Dump in your beans, tomatoes and tomato sauce. Let it cook for about 20 minutes. Taste it and add salt if needed – probably about a teaspoon.

Let it cook for a couple hours on low/medium low heat. Don’t forget about your pepper. Take it out once it gets soggy.

I use RyPat's recipe, but I like to add some ground cinnamon with sweet-n-low. It will give it a bit sweeter taste, which is good for variety from the common chili taste. I also have experimented with cocoa powder and sweet-n-low, however I like the ground cinnamon better.

I usually throw this simple mixture into a crockpot:

1 1b. Lean ground beef
1 can tomato sauce
1 can Bush's medium chili beans
1/2 pkt. Gold Star Chili seasoning

It is simple, tastes decently and works well for my lifestyle.
