I am currently doing the Bev Periodization training. The thing is, is that for some time now its getting harder and harder to recover and i feel tired...all the time. It is taking alot to get my self to the gym these days. Am i pushing too hard?
I get 7-8 hrs of sleep a night. My diet isnt too strict but each day looks similar to this: Meal #1: 2-3 Egg whites, 2 whole eggs, ground turkey/beef 1 cup of kashi cereal in milk (sometimes with fruit) Meal #2; UMP Shake Meal #3 Grilled Chicken wrap with veggies 1 cup of fruit Meal #4 (non-workout days) UMP Shake Meal #4 (workout days) MP shake pre and post Meal #5: turkey chili or steak or chicken salad with veggies and oil and vinegar dressing green beans or broccoli I am also supplementing with: Creatine Up-Lift Ultra 40 (before workout only) Lena out (before workout only) Glutamine Bev ZMA (not consistant tho) Am I overdoing the supplements? not getting enough of the right food? or do i just need a break? Maybe all 3.....haha. |

Hi Carson,
I answered this by replying to an email that you sent to us at Beverly. Your email was specifically asking about what may be missing from your supplements in relation to your low energy levels. You also mentioned in the email that you were only taking the Lean Out and Ultra 40 preworkout for budgeting purposes - that's addressed below. I mention this so that the email reply remains in context. ZMA was not listed in your email, but I would certainly continue it if you can. In case it didn't come through or you didn't see it, here was the answer: "Lower energy is often an unfortunate part of dieting. The biggest thing to combat this are the supplements themselves. You’d be feeling much worse if you weren’t taking the supplements that you are. But, I have two suggestions for you. First, you should begin taking the Ultra 40 properly. This is tremendously effective for increasing strength, stamina and endurance. Don’t confuse that with the type of energy you get from something like caffeine – it’s not a stimulant like that. But it gives your body missing nutrients (especially when restricting food intake) to create and sustain energy. Just taking it before training offers you no benefit really. From a budget standpoint, it’s better to not take a product at all then to take a partial dose and get no results. Cut out the Lean Out if needed to make sure you take Ultra 40 properly. Just taking the Lean Out once daily prior to workout will not offer a benefit either. You are in a position where you are paying for two products but not getting the proper result out of either. It’s more cost effective to take one product properly and get the intended result you’re paying for. You should take a minimum of 1 Ultra 40 tablet per 10 lbs of bodyweight. Simply divide this number up amongst your meals. For example if you weighed 200 lbs and ate 5 meals per day (this includes shakes) the proper minimum dose would be 4 tablets with each meal. Taking 4-6 tablets per day above your bodyweight is even better. The other big thing that is missing from your plan is Super Pak. Vitamins, minerals and micronutrients are critical to your body’s health, immunity, and energy production. In a nut shell, they effect every physiological process in our bodies. Eliminate a product if you have to for budget. You could eliminate your pre-workout shake of MP to cover the cost. I believe 1 super pak daily is around half the cost of one MP shake. Have the MP post-workout and stick to the UP-Lift and Creatine pre-workout." Also, there's nothing wrong with taking a couple of days off from training if you feel you need to. A few days away from the gym could renew your drive to get back in there. Hope this helps, Steven BI |
