Do you have any recommendations for your training if your six months out from your first show? My bodyfat is at 14% and I weight 228 at 6'1. Where should your bodyfat levels be at different points getting ready for a show?

Tim,

Bf% can be tricky, but 14% is not too bad for starting at 6 months out, but I think you'll probally need the 6 months at 14%. Here's a link to a good article on how much time you would need and just about everything else you'll need to get ready for a contest

I kept a journal this year for my precontest training. I think it worked pretty good for me, but I might not include the 8x8 training when I did. Maybe a little closer to the show. The SSHIT training was the best by far, and that could be used for your whole prep except for you last 2 weeks. Hope this helps, here's the link.

Consider 6 months to be 26 weeks. I prefer someone to diet at least 36 weeks before taking on the contest diet. Give yourself that amount of time to get to 8-9% bodyfat. Then the 12 week contest diet can cut/polish you to a perfect specimen. There should be no binges, more control over craves and so forth. When you get back to eating a regular/lean gain diet, you won't gorge yourself to bursting.

That's the other side of the dark view on body building.

Give your body time to make adjustments. It's more mental in this case.
