After leg specialization - what next?

I've gone a few weeks beyond the 42-day leg specialization program as I'm not sure what to transition to in terms of the leg work. I'm an experienced weight lifter but have always stayed in ranges from 3 to 12, depending on the cycle. Until now, I'd never tried this kind of 25-rep program. The high volume leg work was a tough challenge but now it's hard to surrender that accomplishment. But any program will be counterproductive to the effort if adhered to for too long. So, what is recommended for continued progress on legs after that program? Is it advisable to continue some kind of high volume, heavy weight day just to retain the endurance capabilities but now pair it with a low volume, lighter or heavier weight day? Or would a complete change of program be best for continued progress, i.e., growth in muscle size? If so, what leg program is recommended? And, if going off high volume is recommended, when is it advisable to try it again?

I appreciate the patience of whoever comments in reading this long question.

Hello JayneIrene,
Welcome to the board...I see that you are an experienced weight lifter so my assumption is that you went through the 42-day leg specialization to gain a foundation of strength and obviously to concentrate on your legs. Have you charted your progression while on this program? Most of all, did you reach your expectation that you planned for when you went through this program?

Next step is to now assess your goals as to what you are trying to achieve. What are your goals? Are their any lagging body parts that you feel are out of proportion? Main question is, how are your meal planning? As you already know, it does not matter what exercise program you embark in if your meals are not planned with the same intensity that you apply to your workouts.

Sorry to be long winded, I guess my answer to your question would be to blueprint your bodybuilding goals and check out this link:

Hope this helps
