after i work out i drink a mix of gateraid and protein powder. i work out then do my cardio. the question is--do i take the post workout drink after i do the cardio or before i do my cardio--i am trying to drop the weight and gain muscle so i am taking the simple carbs only after the workout. i guess its all in the timing????

I would drink after you've done both. After lifting glucose is low so you will target fat loss by doing your cardio afterwards. Personally I think eating whole foods ie, lean steak or turkey and white potato after working out works better than any drink.

after cardio, not a fan of the gatorade if trying to lose bodyfat but to each his own.
