Hi. I just switched from a lean gain diet to a fat loss plan with two carb up meals a week (Monday/Thursday). I will be playing basketball once a week starting in mid-January for about an hour with my fire/amb company on Tuesday nights and was wondering if it would be better to have a carb meal on Tuesday post-basketball to preserve glycogen storage? Any thoughts? Thank you -Tim
I always prefer to feel good for the big event, whether it be leg day or basketball. Id personally have my carb meal on Monday nights so I have energy for Tuesday.
To prevent muscle degradation Id eat immediately following the basketball. You might also want to take 10 mass aminos before and 10 more as you step off the court.
In the end you can try it either way...but IMO Id prefer it the night before the game.
