What are everyone's thoughts regarding DC training three times per week with two extra workouts?

To be specific...
DC on M/W/F

on T/Th
Extra worktouts for technique/speed (olympic lifts and their variants) and prehab (core work, rotator cuff rehab/prehab)....no weights above 50-60% of 1 RP.

Any thoughts?

Ray - I think that stretching rehab/prehab sorts of things on Tues/TH might be ok but I would stay away from anything that would come close to training.

With DC, especially for a natural lifter, it is very important to have a rest day in between workout days. Without adequate time for recovery you will not see the gains in LBM that you could otherwise look forward to using the DC program.

The nutrition side of things will be just as important. Plan to bump your total daily kcals by at least 500-750 above maintenance to see LBM gains, especially on training days.

If you are just starting DC don't be surprised if it takes you a few weeks in the routine before you begin to feel comfortable with the approach.

i agree with VA maddogg..

i am DC client trained by Inhuman..everything in the program is written for a reason, when those poundages incresase higher and higher, you will be so glad to have days off in between to rest...i wouldnt do anything besides light cardio on off days..
DC has a very successful way of helping out with rotators.. http://www.intensemuscle.com/showthread.php?t=6997 try that

Thanks...

I agree that all in the program is written for a reason.

I am looking at doing work capacity or GPP on my off days. Stuff that facilitates recovery, intensity will be low.

Will check the linked thread from IM....

Thanks guys!

In health and fitness...

Ray,

Do you have a link or an article you can attach/send to me on what this type of training entails?

Steve

I have learned a ton from VA and the posts here.

Drop me a line if you want more info.

We are doing it a bit different. Instead of more weight on the bar we are using bands.

Watch my site for an upcoming article and pics....New Site that is....

No extra workouts (you can do abs on your off day and that's it).

If you are giving 105% at the gym on M/W/F, you will not have the energy to do even light weight exercises on off days. Rest well.

Have to chime in with agreement of all of the above. His program is simply M-W-F (or Tu-Th-Sa). Anything more and you are not really following his protocols. He has said this time and time again. I know that is something that he gets frustrated with as well. People want to change things up, but they dont understand that the system has been refined over time by Dante...and this is the way he found it to be most effective for growth.
