Has anyone tried using exercise bands for their cardio sessions. I use them off and on with my training partner and find it a killer workout!

We usually interleave two bands so that the person holding the bands isn't too close to the "runner." The runner places one of the bands around the waist while the other holds from behind and applies as much resistance as needed. (A good partner will really make you work!) Wind sprints of as little as 25 yards (with knees high) will leave your legs (and lungs) screaming. Try 6-8 sets of intervals... either rotating with your training partner or a run/walk rotation.

Has anyone else had "fun" with these "bad boys"? Any words of caution with this type of exercise?

As always, I appreciate the valuable comments.

Tom

JT,

Congrats on almost being "finished" with school. Law school with work/family/etc. was a drag, but a great opportunity to learn time management. You'll use that skill the rest of your life.

I'm a patent attorney in Cleveland, OH. I work with high tech companies to build/analyze their intellectual property portfolios. It's a nice combo of law and tech., since I used to be an electrical engineer. It also means that I don't wear a tie, and have no clue where the court house is!

I've got a few contacts up here in Cleveland, but frankly I don't know a lot of people in the Cincinnati area. I went to law school in Dallas, TX while working as an engineer.

The key to being happy in law (note the difference between "$$$ success" and "happiness" I'm drawing) is to work in an area you enjoy with people you respect and who share your lifestyle values (i.e., balance between work and rest of life). I know quite a few extremely successful, extremely unhappy attorneys. I'd be happy to talk with you in greater detail about job search, etc.

I'm not sure whether we're supposed to give phone numbers here in the forum, so send me an e-mail, and I'll give you my office contact info.
