Who else has had success with the How to Increase Your Bench Press by Thirty Pounds in Six Weeks
Program, or any other for that matter, from the No Nonsense magazine?
I have to say that I am very happy with my results from the bench program. My training previous to beginning this program was also bench-centric because I was trying to wrap up my goals for the year in that specific area. It was a 6 week program benching 2x per week. Monday was 3 sets of 5 at about 85% of the 5 rep max. On Thursday, after warming up, reps changed to 3,2,1 using progressingly heavier poundages. This specific program helped me add 5 lbs to my previous best and 2 reps to my previous best at 225.
I still hadn't reached my goal for the year, so I went right into the next 6 week program, How to Increase Your Bench Press by Thirty Pounds in Six Weeks. I knew that since I had been working specifically on my bench for 6 weeks already (actually most of the year) that an achieveable goal was to add maybe 2.5 - 3 pounds.

I made sure to adjust my supplementation for maximum strength gains. Here's what I used on a daily basis:
2 scoops UMP mixed with 2 scoops Mass Maker 2x per day
3 scoops Muscle Synergy powder per day, split into 2 servings
4 Mass Amino Acid tablets with each meal
1 Super Pak per day
3 ZMA before bed
2 Ultra C per day, one with dinner and one before bed to aid recovery and stave off illness
On the last 7 days before I maxed out I loaded 6 scoops of Creatine Select per day (2 scoops with 3 whole food meals each day). I also upped the Mass to 6 with each meal.

The results?
A new personal best by 13 pounds. I also added 2 reps to my previous 225 max reps about 5 minutes after I had just maxed out. Needless to say, goals for the year accomplished.

Sandy currently has a post giving some tips and tibdits, one of them is about planning. Planned progression and knowing what you are trying to accomplish is the key to success. Take the time to make some goals and how you plan to achieve them. Achieving them gives you a great sense of accomplishment, and narrowly missing them helps you to work harder next time.

You can find some great training programs in the Beverly Nutrition, Training, and Supplement Solutions and the Feature Training Articles sections of the homepage, www.BeverlyInternational.com.

If any one else has a success story we'd like for you to share them.

After we put the bench article in the magazine, I decided to try it again. I'm much older (63 next month) than when I originally performed the program plus I now have have one artificial shoulder so I really didn't know what to expect. I have one week left and last week I'm now doing the 5 sets of 1 with 32.5 more pounds than I started.

My main, never miss supplements are Quadracarn and Muscle Synergy. (I mix it up taking 8 tablets in the morning and 2 scoops powder before training.)
