Hi guys!!! I miss you all! I haven't been on here in a while =)

I was wondering if anyone noticed the change in consistency and taste in UMP chocolate? I use this stuff year round and noticed my last shipment tasted much different. Was there a change Bev put out that I didnt know about? Thanks guys!! =))

I thought the same thing. I thought it seemed grainy. If that is a word.

Yes it is 'grainy'- it also doesn't seem to create the same pudding texture- bummer. The taste also is more 'proteiny' or 'vitaminy' if those are words lol

I haven't tried my vanilla, but I'm not excited about the cookies & cream. It now tastes more like Ultra Size. I hope the UMP vanilla will be good.

I just got two more tubs of vanilla about a week ago and I didnt notice any difference. I have never used the chocolate or cookies and creme but the vanilla seems to be the same.

Perhaps you got the previous formulation- they may still have some left. I also noticed the vanilla to be different. What a bummer!

I noticed a difference on the recent shipment too. It doesn't taste quite as good, it leaves more of a residue or film if left alone for a little while, and doesn't make pudding as well. What was the reason again???

Who wants to be the "bad guy" and call it in? Wink Roger won't know unless it is called in.

I just got 12 new tins of UMP Vanilla about 2 days ago. It mixes and tastes the same and quite honestly, the other two flavors have somewhat of a "medicine-like" flavor to many. The vanilla tastes the absolute best and, this just in, mixes VERY well with all differnt types of those fancy sugar free "designer" coffe syrups.

Hmm...2 scoops Vanilla, 1/2 apple, and sprinkle some butter bus and cinnamon in there. Mix it all up in your magic bullet...then tell me what you think.

Hmmmmmm?? Rachel seemed to think that the chocolate UMP was an upgrade from the old formula? Oh well, it doesn't matter to me cuz I am a die hard UMP Vanilla guy anyways. Nothing better!

i've noticed a difference in the vanilla UMP as well. not so much taste but texture....grainy and leaves some what of a "film" in your mouth. still love the taste but it is grainier...if there is such a word!

I noticed that with the last batch from Jay Robb.

there wasa similar change in vanilla ump if i recall correctly around the end of 06 . ive always liked the final product . roger/sandy and the rest usually find a way to improve.

heck what do i know i liked the vanilla ump with the pepzyme in it...... whe everyone led a revolt against that change so they changed it back to the original.

I was just in Beverly yesterday and Greg told me that both the Chocolate and Cookies were reformulated.

The way he was talking it sounded like an improvement in taste and consistency in both products. I can't wait to try them!

Just got my new order in of UMP. The taste is way different which I don't like. But still I won't stop buying UMP. Hopefully they will go back to the old taste?

Wow, looks like I'm not the only one who noticed. I really hope they will go back to the old formula.

I have been eating chocolate ump pudding every night (seriuosly there's probally been less than 10 days total that I did not have it) since it came out (4 years?) and I really look forward to it, especially when dieting. It's kind of like ice cream for me.

The new one tastes very different, and in my opioion not even close to as good, and is kind of gelatinous when made into a pudding.

I'll give a call tomorrow and see if I can get my hands on the old formula, and for what it's worth request that they go back to it.

I just tried the new chocolate UMP and I won't buy it again. I don't like the taste at all now.
If the vanilla is unchanged I'll stick with that. I'm sure the chocolate is much improved from a formula standpoint because it no longer has saturated fat - but the taste just doesn't cut it.
