This message is geared toward Frank since he has recommended taking in fiber with the protein shake. I was wondering what fiber you would recommend using with the protein shake particularly if I don't get to the shake until 10PM for the post workout. Also, would you recommend carbs at this hour since I won't eat until the morning at 7AM or should one stick to 40-60 grams of protein such as Muscle Provider? Since the summer is almost here, I am looking at staying lean. Right now I am adding 2 scoops of Mass Maker and 2 scoops of MP along with 2000mg of vitamin C.

Thanks,

Mike

Use FiberSmart and/or add fruits. I mix apples, strawberries, cherries, etc., and sometimes combine a few. That takes care of the carbs. Mass Maker, I would use sometime during the day.

Alternate between a solid meal and a protein shake that late and see which will allow you to sleep well.

So Frank, even though it's 10PM and I'll probably sleep around 11:30 the sugars from the fruits are okay at that hour? That's why I went with the Mass Maker instead although fiber is nill in that product. I understand the concept of spiking the insulin levels to drive the nutrients but I am concerned about sugars at that hour. I'll definitely look at the FiberSmart. Sleeping is not an issue for me - soon as my head hits the pillow I am out cold.

Thank You!

Adding fiber, fruits (won't be that much carbs) will complicate the digestive process so you are not going to get that huge spike. You are going to process carbs while sleeping for energy for a very needy brain. You would be surprised and the amount of energy the brain requires.

Only be concerned with a large volume of sugars or carbs such as sweets, etc.
