Hi all. I just started taking Beverly supplements based on a friend's suggestion and have a couple of questions regarding the supplements and training. I am male, 5'9 1/2 and weigh 190pds. I am between 16-17% percent body fat. I have a fairly big frame so I've always been worried about "bulking up". About 1yr ago I got back into training but focused a lot on cardio. I got down to about 172 pds (from about 225) and found that I still didn't like the way my body looked. I was skinnier but not defined and my diet was garbage. I basically "sucked" (former wrestler) down to 172 and as soon as I started eating normally again I gained back some weight. So I decided to start researching more about diet and strength training. I got over my hang up that serious weight training would make me look like the incredible bulk and realized that I could do cardio to the cows come home but only strength training would get me where I want to be. The funny thing is that all my clothes fit pretty much the same way as when I was 172ish and I'm now 190. I am not trying to get in "competition" shape but my goal is to continue get more definition/reduce my body fat. Couple of questions:

1. I am not necessarily concentrating on losing weight, but will I have to to see more definition/lose body fat?

2. Any recommendations as to where to come up with a solid meal plan (I think I read something about a beverly resource). I currently eat six smallish meals a day getting in protein/carbs/some fats in every meal. I don't currently track my macronutrients or calories. Just read the EZ diet article and think I will try. Any comments about this food plan?

2. I am currently taking muscle provider and ump, lean out (2 caps with each meal, six meals, so about 12 caps/day), ultra 40 (12 per day), glutamine select (during workouts both cardio and weights), beta-alanine (pre workout both cardio and weight) and ultra 4 and EFAs. Does this sound like a good supplement regimen/dosage to increase definition and lose body fat? Also, I've noticed that I've actually gained a pound or two since starting the supplements. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hey welcome to Beverly supplements, personally I love them. I too wrestled in high school. I just graduated this year and with the help of beverly and the other members of this forum i had a great diet and supplement plan that helped me stay lean all season and make it to the state level to compete at the Ohio High School State Wrestling Tournament. When wrestling ended I switch to a lean gain diet for awhile and did stay lean. So concerning the EZ diet, that would be a bad choice. I often see others just like you getted pointed in the same direction. Also, if your really motivated you can check around the forum and find others about your size and see their plans. Supplements dont look bad at all. Here are my personal favorites to use for leaning out and adding muscle:

Lean Out/ 2 per meal

Glutamine Slelect/ w/training and around cardio

Density/ 5 before and after training (when diet gets really strict then i will also add 3 per meal)

Muscle Provider/ use this for 1-2 meals a day

Ultra 4/ like this vitamin because i can easily spread out the dosage throughout the day.

7-Keto/ 3 in the morning and 3 in the early after noon

As far as gaining weight, it could easily be new lean tissue but if your diet is not in line than it could also easily be fat. Remember DIET is number 1 when it comes to just about every aspect of the condition of ones body.

Good Luck!!

Welcome to the board. I would suggest going to this link: http://beverlynutrition.com/ev...96051983/m/978101912

This is a topic in the diet section right here on the board. It's some of the best proven methods that people have had tremendous success with. Many are based on the principles taught in EZ Dieting and this shows them in action.
