Quick Question - How far in advance can I make a Muscle Provider shake and store it before it loses it's nutritional value? I know mixing on the run is easy and that is what I usually do, but sometimes it would be super convenient to mix ahead of time and carry in a cooler.

Deborah,

One of the best things you can do with MP is learn to make a paste when you're on the run and it is SOOOOOOOO good! This is no worry about spoilage, spills, going bad or loss of value. Then chase it down with water. This much easier!

The title is cute. It sounds like a biography, but is really has to be a short story. Big Grin

Wow, Joe! I've never attempted more than 4 hours. Skeered to.

Almost every day I make a large UMP shake with 3 scoops of protein and about 24 oz of water. I drink half of it for breakfast around 8 am and put the other half in the fridge to drink later. I usually get to my second half around 4 pm. That's 8 hours later - with no difference that I can tell in taste. I’ve had shakes 24 hours later, as long as they are refrigerated, that have tasted fine.

Another thing I like to do, especially on the weekends in the summer, is make a few shakes and freeze them. Take one out 2-3 hours before it's time to drink. Let it thaw and get slushy. This is a great treat. They can stay frozen for quite a while before drinking them.

I can't tell you the exact timeframe that you can store the protein before it would lose some nutrient value, but I can safely say that it would smell bad and taste bad before that would happen.
