It may just be a placebo effect that I am experiencing, BUT, ever since they changed the formula a few years back, I never looked at Ultra Size the same. I started using Ultra Size because of the protein spectrum that Eric Serrano spent so long developing. When Beef Peptides and Colostrum were taken out of the picture, the science behind the product was gone for me... like I said, could have just been a placebo effect.... HOWEVER, when UMP Vanilla came out, I NEVER looked at Ultra Size AGAIN!! And certainly did NOT miss it!

UMP VANILLA FOLKS! Nothing but the best!

I think it must be true because it was not available during their most recent sale. I bake (or maybe baked is more appropriate) with it all of the time. I am thinking of stocking up......

The information that I recently received regarding US is that Beverly was going to discontinue the production (or had) and had such an outcry for it that they reversed the decision. I'm not sure when it will be available again as the distributor I purchase from has not yet received this info. Hope this sets some minds at ease. I myself have found it to be the best protein to bake and cook with. I love UMP for shakes and such but it doesn't touch US for baking!

Thanks for the info. That is great news. I'll stop by their booth at The Arnold and see if I can learn more.

Ultra Size was discontinued in December/January due to extraordinary price increases on the specific ingredients in Ultra Size. And when I say extraordinary increases, I’m not exaggerating. It was to the point that we could not make and sell the product. The costs to pass along to you would make the product un-purchasable.

We certainly did not want to discontinue Ultra Size, but one thing Beverly will never do is degrade the quality or cheapen a product simply to keep making it. We’ll either make the best product or not make it at all. And sometimes, yes, prices will go up. But as you know, you get what you pay for.

We have been told point blank by labs that we are the only company they know of that hasn’t already lowered the grade of the materials in their product to the cheapest they can get away with. And they keep selling it as the same product at the same price. Heck, we’re still going the opposite direction, even making improvement to products like the recent mixability improvement and flavor enhancement of UMP Chocolate and Cookies & Crème.

It’s no coincidence that Beverly just won another award for the Best of the Best Business Practices in the Supplement Industry for 2008-2009. That’s based on length of time in business, BBB rating, return policies, guarantees, prompt payment of payables, legitimate product formulations and FDA/FTC clearance, advertising claims and consumer help.

Long story short, we have been in talks with our labs every day for the past three months anticipating that the prices of the ingredients would come back down and we’d be able to make it again. Currently, we are expecting to make Ultra Size again in April. But we will have to offer it at a slightly higher price.

After that, Ultra Size staying in our line will depend on whether or not people continue to buy it. Most people who switch to UMP, which is technically an even more premium product, don’t ever go back to Ultra Size, so we’ll see. And really anything you can do with Ultra Size you can also do with UMP, like crepes, pancakes, pudding etc. http://www.beverlyinternationa...abolic-leverage.html

If you have any questions or concerns that you need to ask Beverly directly, don’t hesitate to give us call. We’re here 9-5 EST Monday – Friday.

Thank you,

Steven Wade

I've been meaning to follow up on this topic. I spoke with one of the Beverly reps at The Arnold. He confirmed that at this time, there are no definite plans to begin manufacturing Ultra Size again, due to increasing costs of some of the ingredients. He suggested I use UMP to bake with instead of US. I haven't tried UMP in some time, but based on what others have said about its taste, I'm going to stock up on US.

Sharon,

Hi, I'm actually a big fan of MP just because it doesn't bloat me as much as UMP and US, however UMP chocolate actually tastes very good as well as the cookies and creme.. Never tried the vanilla. UMP also bakes good too.

Thanks for the info. When my stock of US is nearly gone, I might try to bake with UMP.

Ultra Size is once again available. I'm on my second tub this month and am loving it. By the way, I tried all of my US recipes with UMP and they did not turn out like when I us the US. I imagine that given time, I would have been able to tweek them enough to make it acceptable. Thank you Beverly for bringing the US back!!!!

Yes it's back - we just got some in stock last week. However there is a SLIGHT increase in cost due to the increased cost of the ingredients. I for one am SOOO happy it's back! Not that I'm using it now during contest prep, but once my show is over I'll be going right back to my cottage cheese/Ultra Size pudding mixture!!

I hate cottage cheese, and this is the only way I can eat it... and actually it's now one of my FAVORITES. I do about 55g cottage cheese and 25g Ultra Size (or whatever fits in my macros) add a little bit of water and mix it up (I may add a little more water if the powder doesn't fully mix. Then I'll top it with either blueberries or puffed rice to get in my remaining carbs. DELICIOUS!!
