I am thinking of adding Glutamine Select to my diet once again and I know it was previously mentioned that the BCAA's stimulate insulin. Since I am trying to lose fat should GS be taken before I weight train, after or both?
I don't think I want to take it before cardio because I have too many issues issues with insulin already.

Thanks
Lisa

That is an interesting question! At what capacity does the pancreas release insulin concerning the metabolization (is that a word?) of BCAA's??? I don't know the answer to that exactly Lisa, but I do know that MOST users prefer to mix 2-4 scoops of GS and sip it throughout their workouts.

For you, I would suggest the best thing to do is slam 2-3 scoops of GS post-workout. Shuttle some BCAA's in when they are needed the most!

Lisa, are you using Density?? I would reccommend Density over GS for you.

Hi,

I have density, but I haven't used it yet. Should I take that precardio, pre/after workout and how many?

Thanks
Lisa

I would take 5 tabs before you lift and 5 tabs while you are lifting. I use 10 tabs before I lift and 10 tabs of Muscle Mass after I lift.

Remember, they keep you anti-catabolic, so if you use them on a calorie restricted diet, they perserve your muscle!

I would refer to this thread also about the enormous benefits of BCAAs during training and/or cardio: http://beverlynutrition.com/ev...46095412/m/619104331

Don't worry about Glutamine Select or BCAAs producing an insulin response that will interfere with fat loss. That's an unnecessary level of over analyzing. Worrying about the insulin response from a bunch of carbs or sugar is one thing, but not from BCAAs. The benefits they offer to fatloss/muscle retention are endless. Density is a good product to use before/during training too. Do what's most convenient/enjoyable/practical of the two products for you.

So is it ok to use GS or Denisity before LISS cardio? I just look so bloated (alot of water retention)and I get really light headed after I use BCAA's. I also take Metformin xr at night to keep my insulin levels low, is the insulin response from taking BCAA's enough to defete the purpose of taking metformin? I definately need something to help prevent muscle breakdown.
What about Musclarity..I know that has chromium to help with the insulin response, can I take that before cardio and training? I'm placing an order on Friday, so I may order that.

Thanks
Lisa

Lisa, if you are truly looking to prevent muscle loss and are worried about insulin and your medication (metaformin), I would stick with Density or Muscle Synergy. Muscle Synergy is SUPER anti-catabolic and will hold on to muscle for DEAR LIFE when dieting down!

Lisa, steven is right. You, being on a very specific medication, would be better off calling Beverly and asking them directly your specific concerns and questions. They've talked with thousands upon thousands of customers, some of whom may have even had the same medical issues and concerns that you are having...

The best thing would be to just make a call Smile
