Sorry, this is not much of an answer but, I have always wondered the same thing which was better free form or peptide. I have never heard anyone say free form was better and I have heard that peptide is better, the only argument I have heard for free form is that it does not matter which one it is because it all has to be broken down to free form in the body anyways. So, I pretty much don't feel there is much difference especially if you take enough but, I typically go with peptides only because I think I was brainwashed in the beginning that they were better.

Be careful with products that contain "glutamine peptides" because that is often a pseudonym that companies use for wheat protein. Not to say that it is always bad, but if it is one of the first protein sources listed, I would be skeptical. If all other factors are equal, I would definately opt for the free form l-glutamine as it is already broken down and so it may absorb quicker.
