Hi! I have been taking Lean Out - one capsule with the first bite of each meal, and two capsules right before my workout - for about two weeks. I was told to up it to 2 capsules with the first bite of each meal after a few weeks. Is it really important to increase to 2 capsules, or will I get just as good results just taking the 1. And if I do have to increase it to 2 with each meal, do I still take 2 before my workouts?

Also, I have been sipping the glutamine during each workout for 2 weeks....but only during my workouts which are 3 times a week. Would it benefit me to take the glutamine on my non-workout days, and if so, what time of day, on an empty stomach, with a meal?

Thanks for your help!

Beth

There are two key elements that everyone needs to know about Lean Out. 1. You have to take enough of it. 2. The dose should be spread out throughout the day. Within that criteria there are lots of options.

The optimal range we have found for females is 6-10 caps per day and for males 8-12 caps per day. That generally equates to two caps with each meal. And if you’re in that range by taking it with all your meals and shakes, then taking more pre workout may not be necessary but it’s up to you. (Optimal is defined in this case as being the best cost vs. benefit ratio.)

You can take it before a meal, during your meal or after your meal. Which can you remember to do and what is doable for you is the important thing to ask. It still comes down to the two key things to know mentioned above. We’ve never seen it not work because someone took it after their meal vs. before.

Lean Out is something that you have a greater and greater need for as you increase your calorie deficit through dieting. It’s not uncommon for a precontest bodybuilder with a few weeks to go to be taking 3 or 4 caps with each meal. So it’s not something that is unhealthy or you get too much of. Just consider the principle of diminishing returns. 2 per meal vs. 1 may almost double your results. But 3 per meal vs. 2 may only increase your result slightly. Now, with all that being said, if I was 4 weeks out from a show there’s no question I’d be using 3 or 4 caps per meal. For pretty much any other scenario though, stick to the optimal range.

Glutamine Select is most critical and important before, during and after training. Consider this: If you don’t supply your body with glutamine, leucine, isoleucine and valine then your body will harvest these aminos from your muscles. Aka breakdown muscle to fuel your workout. So first prioritize Glutamine Select during your training. About 3 scoops. You can use a scoop more or less depending on the intensity of your workout.

If you eat great (5-6 meals per day, good sources of protein at each meal) and already supplement with aminos at meals you may not need Glutamine Select on your non-training days. If this is not the case it can certainly be a beneficial and convenient way of improving your overall result. Even just a scoop in between meals can have a great benefit for recovery, muscle growth and fat loss.

I hope this helps,

Steven Wade

Thanks for replying and for your information. Let me ask you this....right now, I am eating about 1600 calories a day as I am trying to increase the amount of weight I am lifting right now. I'm sure in the weeks to come, my diet will be reduced in the number of calories I consume....I'm on a 12-week program with my trainer to lose body fat and increase muscle mass. Is it beneficial to me to take Lean Out during this more caloric intake period or should I "save" it until the time where my calories are reduced? I've been taking it for the past 2 weeks, but only one capsule with each meal. I can certainly increase that now to 2 with each meal - I'm just wondering if I should be doing that now, because my calories aren't that low....

I also don't take any amino supplements, but I do eat great with protein sources at each meal, etc. - so do you think I can get away with just taking the glutamine during my training - and I guess I should up the amount because I've only been doing 1 scoop with 16 oz. of water during training, 3 times per week.

Thanks again!
Beth

Your current situation is just perfect for Lean Out usage. I would use 2 caps per meal Beth. Your calories are plenty low at 1600! I don't care how small you are, that is pretty low. As far as glutamine goes, take it during or before your workouts. That is fine. On non-lifting days, take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach before your morning cardio, or, after.... are you using plain Glutamine? Or Glutamine Select?? There is a difference there.

Thanks - I started taking two Lean Outs per meal the other day - I hope it works!! Smile
I bought Beverly's Glutamine Select with BCAA's...I mix it with 16 oz. of water and sip during my workouts, 3 X a week - but sure, I can take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach on my non-workout days! It doesn't matter if it is before or after cardio?

Thanks,
Beth

Hey Beth! If it is Glutamine Select, then I would take it AFTER your morning cardio. The presence of BCAA's in that supplement will induce a bit of an insulin response, and that is not what you want before you do your cardio. You want to dip into that free floating Fatty acid reserve in your bloodstream for energy!

So after is the better time to take it on you non-workout days.

Thanks for the advice - I will implement it immediately! How soon do you see things happening with taking Lean Out? Just curious. I only bought two bottles - already used one up, just started the second - and I don't notice anything at all so far. Frown
