Howdy all,
i did a search using the words "Superpak" and "iron" and did not find an answer to my question.

My question is: with the concern about ingesting too much iron for men, why does the Superpak still contain iron?

the following link http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/iron.asp states that the tolerable upper limit for men 19 to 50 years of age is 40mg/day. the RDA for the same age group is 8mg/day. the website does state that men engaged in intense exercise (defined as exercises like jogging, cycling, competitive swimming)may have a need 30% greater than normal.

I wouldn't put to much stock into what government claims RDA should be for anything. RDA is a horrible understatement of how the FDA thinks humans "should" eat. Also, jogging, cycling, and swimming is NOT the same has heavy, intense weight-lifting. In that aspect, the difference is Aerobic vs. Anaerobic activity. The changes in your metabolism is VERY different. If it weren't all joggers and swimmers would look like Bodybuilders. That is clearly NOT the case. The demand for nutrients and micronutrients is severly different.

According to RDA, most athletes should only be ingesting 75-125g of protien... Do you think you could rebuild and repair damaged muscle tissue from intense weight-lifting and have the body of Frank Zane from that kind of recommendation? I think not.

I'm not going there.

I personally do not supplement with SuperPak unless contest dieting because I know I'll get all that I need once contest dieting and taking SuperPak. My choice not to use SuperPak has nothing to do with what is contained in the product.

While contest dieting, there is no way you will get all the vitamins and essential minerals from your diet alone and even if you're not dieting down, or maintaining.

As for other toxicity levels such as A, C and including an OD on K, other minerals, I think I'll just keep on eating. Smile

I do supplement with other vitamins, but it is mainly B Complex.
