I know most people love Mass Maker post workout but has anyone tried Waxy Maize? If so, how do you like it?

Yes I like waxy maize and use it often, including with meals as another carb source. Because of the way it is branched, it bypasses the digestive process and enters the bloodstream very quickly, carrying along any ergogenic substrates, ie creatine, bcaa's, beta alanine, hmb, etc.

I still use Mass Maker, but more so as a meal replacement usually mixed with Ultra Size. For post workout I rarely have a shake, but if I do, I like Muscle Provider mixed with about 50-60gr of waxy maize, along with 8 tabs or so of Muscle Synergy.

Just some of my personal thoughts Smile

Thank you so much, Aram. Are all waxy maize products the same? I see True Protein has a popular produc as does Primaforce Carb Slam. Pretty much all identical?

Interesting that you don't consume a shake post workout? How come?

Thanks again!

I think they are pretty much all the same as long as there are no added ingedients like sweeteners, protein fractions, other carb sources, etc. A standard 29cc scoop should yield 38gr of WM.

Yes, I rarely take a PWO shake anymore. I see no real difference since trying both methods on and off for years. At one point I was consuming a shake consisting of 130gr of carbs. What I prefer is taking in amino acids in their free form state, along with creatine immediately PWO. An hour or so later I have a whole food meal with very little fat. I train first thing in the morning at 5:00AM, so I've got the entire day to fill my glycogen stores and initiate the process of protein synthesis, which I believe has a 36 hour window after a workout. I also seem to remain leaner with a shift over to better gains in lean mass as opposed to adipose tissue this way. Again, these protocols are what currently work for me. Now that I am nearing 50 yearts of age, what I did PWO at age 32 no longer has relevance.

Man how I wish I were 32 again! Roll Eyes

Top Round and White potato with sea salt for this guy after training, great post workout meal...

Well, as of right now, I am 19 weeks out from my first show (first show in three years) and my post workout meal seems to be changing from week to week. This is my first meal of the day as well, so it usually consists of 1 1/4 cup oatmeal, 6 egg whites, and 1/2 scoop Muscle Provider.

Are you competing soon, Naturalpro9? If I may ask, what org(s) are you a pro in?

Have you tried this as a meal prior to workout? I had eggs with potato. As for post workout, I'm commenting on that on another thread.

Actually G, I consider myself lucky for not being in the novice class! I know for sure you are going to bring it on that day! Wink If all things work out as planned, I will be there competing for the first time in the grand masters class, along with the men's open. Looking forward to seeing you. Good luck in your prep! Well Jason, being 4% has its disadvantages this far out, but I believe it is a direct result of the illnesses I've suffered throughout the last 3 years. What I am attempting to do is add lean mass as I diet down. I believe it's possible and we'll see what happens. There is no more pressure though. It's all about fun. Big Grin I am very grateful to be alive.

Thank you for your very kind sentiments. Smile

Really looking forward to your return to the stage Aram! Like always, you are gonna cream everyone in your class. Bev needs to do another article on you for the NoNonsense Magazine...

It would be interesting to hear the trials that you had to go through, yet still prevail and wind up back on stage again! Make for a really great article!

Chunky - I think that's a great idea....I'd love to see an article in the Bev. Magazine on Aram....Documenting his return.

Aram - I look forward to seeing you as well. Best of luck in your prep....Being at 4% can never bee too bad of a thing...and I'm sure if anyone can gain muscle on a diet...it would be you. Talk to you soon! Keep up the inspiring work.
