You may want to watch out with soy as it can raise estrogen in the body. I believe it was Frank that mentioned this awhile back and I also read this in several magazines. There may be a substitute however, be patient someone else will probly give some more info.

I am gonna go ahead and GO AGAINST what your MD told you to do. Soy is an inferior source of protein, and frankly most MD's don't have a CLUE as to anything that pertains to sports nutrition.... What were you using before??? Straight "Whey" proteins will mess with the blood sugar if taken by itself, so I wouldn't recommend that either. I would, however, recommend UMP because it is 80% Caseins and Milk Protein Isolates. This type of protein gels in the gut so it actually CONTROLS your blood sugar! Also it has some healthfull fats that sustain blood sugar levels. If your LDL's and triglyceride levels are a major concern for you AND a major concern for your doctor, then I would suggest that you seek further medical attention regarding that issue. HOWEVER, if your doctor mentioned it out of hapenstance and up to your own devices, i would DEFINETLY suggest Beverly's LEAN OUT! In fact not only would Lean Out help you with your LDL and triglycerides, but it would help you with your blood sugars as well!! My 2 cents.

In the words of Beverly's founder Jim Heflin, "Soy protein is better suited for large bovine animals such as water buffalo". It's useless for building muscle in humans.
Of course, any recommendations on here will be influenced by what's best for building muscle and losing fat.
You may want to get more clarity from your doctor as to why he recommends switching to soy. It sounds as though he's recommending it for a specific "intended" health benefit which can sometimes be acheived with small amounts - vs switching away from all your muscle building/fat burning proteins.
As mentioned, Lean Out would be a tremendously helpful product along with EFA Gold for improving your lipid profile. You'd want to use them consistently for a couple of months before measuring results. 6-9 EFA Gold per day and at least 4-6 Lean Out per day. FYI: UMP or Muscle Provider would not have a negative affect on your triglycerides.
