Density vs. Synergy?

My wife is about 10 weeks out and has been taking 3 Density upon waking up in the morning and 3 post workout for a while (not just starting with the diet a couple weeks ago). I've been reading a lot of positives about Synergy and wonder if this is something she should add in (we have a couple containers), as the calipers say she's lost a fair amount of lean mass in prior diet downs?

If she does start Synergy, should she stay on the Density in the same fashion (waking and post workout)?

If she starts Synergy, it looks like she might do 4 upon waking, 4 pre-workout (stomach wouldn't quite be empty - maybe 30 mins post preworkout oats/MP), and 4 before bed?

A couple other unrelated (I think) asides. 1) I think she may drop U40s in order to be able to get more real food protein in. 2) Thinking about switching in workout drink from Xtend to Glutamine Select.

Thanks for any comments/feedback.

Density and Synergy are great to take together. I liked taking 5 upon waking before LISS cardio in the morning, 5 before training and 5 before bed time. I used 10 Denisty during training and during any HIIT cardio sessions to help retain lean body mass while dieting. There are many different ways you can use these two toghter to be effective.

As for the U40's I always felt the same as you in that I would rather eat the extra grams of protein from real food. Others have had great success from using as alot of people report a hardening effect from them. I did not feel that way so thats why I stuck with real food.

She can absoultely benefit from using both products. Muscle Synergy will hold on to her muscle for dear life!! Truly an anti-catabolic compound. It should only help her progress.

Density is fine the way she is taking it and would be fine in conjuction with MS.

As far as the Ultra40's, that is up to her. Like Jared said, she may choose to eat MORE whole food than rely on the Ultra40's. Personally, I can't live without the Ultra40's. All those precious high quality B vitamins in there that I would not be getting are very noticible when I get off Ultra40's... of which I will never do again Smile

Glutamine Select during a workout could play against her according to some science, but then again, there are a ton of Bever's that use GS during their workouts during contest prep and have lots of success with it. Personally, I would not do either GS or Xtend! I would just pound some more Denisty tabs during the workout. That has ALWAYS worked for me during prep OR during off-season. Right now I use 10 tabs of Density during my workouts, come contest time, I bump that up to as much as 20 tabs depending on how calorie deficient I am. If I were her, i would just play it safe and use 5-10 tabs of Density during her workouts.

From my experience I would not advise dropping ultra 40. I notice a decrease in stamina when I drop it. I understand the desire to get more whole food protein but the heme iron in the Ultra 40 really helps with oxygen transport and endurance. When you are dieting your energy levels aren't at their peak anyway. The Ultra 40 I always felt helped this.

I have used both Xtend and Glutamine Select. My preference was the Glutamine Select. It felf like a cleaner, more trusted supplement to me. Also, I work out early in the morning on an empty stomach with nothing but a little tea and Muscle Synergy and I think it helped hold off my appetite a bit until I was finished.
