I was reading alot of the post on the forum lately and noticed that some members like taking mass aminos and ultra 40's between meal instead of with them. Is this more benefical for nitrogen balance or is it about the same? Thanks
Ive read studies that suggest the best way to optmimize nitrogen retention is to eat every 4 hrs apart and then supplement in between with leucine I think it was like 2-3 grams worth in between meals. So I think there is some credence to what you wrote.
The study is posted on theocbonline website and Layne Norton was the researcher on the project.
The whole idea behind how bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts eat is to "GRAZE". Multiple smaller meals all day long. Anywhere from 6-10 meals a day means that you are eating smaller meals every 2 to 3 hours or less.
So yes, having your Mass and Ultra 40's together in between these meals creates, possibly, an even better steady stream of amino acids into the digestive system AND blood stream. That could count as just another "smaller" meal in between meals. If you have the time and discipline to do it, it could possibly benefit you?

though Im of the opinion it still needs to be calculated into your protein reqs and anything over what your lbm needs could store as fat, more is not always better.
Yup, J is absolutely right. If you do intend on using Mass and Ultra 40 in this fashion, which isn't a bad idea, the protein in those supps MUST be accounted for "calorie wise" in your current diet. Do NOT add them in just to add them in. Use them and adjust the protein in your diet accordingly.
