I want to add creatine select to my precontest but wanted to know if it holds water? I have tried creatine before and everytime I take it I hold water and look puffy. How is creatine select different? Has anyone tried it for precontest with good results?
Its fine. I just dont buy this creatine made me hold water stuff, sorry. If you read all the science behind it, it drives sub q into the muscle, water INTO the muscle. I load 15 grams Weds-Friday before a show and I dont hold any water.
I believe a) you had a WAY inferior product and it had tons of filler that MAY cause the problem b) you used a product with sugars like that MuscleTech product or something about diet, but its not the creatine.
Good Luck!

I think they are saying that Creatine Select is a quality product that you should not hold water from, whether you are pre contest or offseason or somewhere in between.
I personally believe that, when you are lean enough, it is very hard to "hold water". If you are "holding", you might need to drop a few lbs. yet.
With a quality creatine supplement (that is actually creatine and not all sugar), any water that is interstitial will be absorbed by your muscles and make you look fuller and harder....not puffy.
I have to agree with JTheo and the others. I load precontest according to his protocol and have no water retention issues. Like winflex said,if you are lean enough you will not hold subq water. I have used Creatine Select in training, but in the final week loading I use regular creatine monohydrate with good results. It is very cheap and obtainable anywhere.
