Currently, I have been dieting for about 5 months now, on an off season diet, and have been using a combination of 3 scoops of Mass Maker and 1 scoop Muscle Provider for my shakes. I have been wondering if there would be any benefit to switch to UMP. Not sure what the benefits would be besides more casein in the shakes. Any input is appreciated.

Rob,
The benefits of UMP: 1)Slower digesting protein, perfect for before bed. 2)Higher amounts of l-arginine, l-glutamine, and bcaa's 3)a little more fat than MP per serving (sunflower oil, mct's) How many of your present MMaker/MP shakes are you drinking per day? What have been your results? If you are willing to try something different, here's my suggestion. BTW, I did the following for 2 six week cycles which resulted in the heaviest I've competed (last week, and for my NBI PRO show last year) with significantly lower bodyfat levels. First week: Add 1 scoop Mass Maker with each meal. Second week: Add 2 scoops Mass Maker with each meal. Weeks 3-4: Add 3 scoops Mass Maker with each meal. Fifth week: Add 1/2 scoop UMP with your 3 scoops Mass Maker. Sixth week: Add 1 scoop UMP with your 3 scoops Mass Maker. Weeks 7-8 I went on a hardenning phase, dropping total carb calories then repeated the above mass phase, prior to my 8 week pre-contest diet. Since I train in the early AM, I used no PWO shake, knowing I had the rest of the day to restore my body's glycogen reserves. I also favor a steadier release of insulin throughout the day and evening, as opposed to a massive spike. Good luck and welcome. Aram N. Hamparian NBI, USBF Pro Natural |
