There are a couple of training specific supplements that you just take before or during training, like Up-Lift. But, in general your supplements are an everyday part of your nutrition just like food is. Training is only a stimulus. Most of the changes that take place in your body occur outside of the gym and off days and the nutrients must be present for positive things to happen. Go to www.bodybuildingworld.com and look through the products in the grey column on the left. You'll see general recommendations for usage. Also, the diets in the FAQs section of this board each have supplement instructions in them.

That doesn't sound correct at all. Supplements are nothing but an addition to your diet to fill in the gaps. IF your diet is great, you will still need a few supplements here and there to help complete the circle. What diet plans are you speaking of JimSter? Honestly, if they are truly saying this, then I question the integrity of the diet plan altogether.

I see what they are doing there. They are replaceing certain supps with other supps, but are not ceasing them altogether. For example, they replace MASS with Density for a few weeks, which is fine to do. All that means is that instead of full-spectrum aminos that weigh in extra calories, they sub them for DENSITY (fantastic product by the way) and are solely getting the ESSENTIAL AMINOS rather than the complete species of protein in MASS...

Anyways, the point being that there is always a constant. Vital supplements to any plan are your macro-nutrients (protein and amino supps) and vitamins. As far as super-pack, you pretty much never stop taking them. As Stephen said, if the supps are for the intent of "boosting your workout" then those aren't necessarily needed every day, but vital nutrients are always necessary...

What are you using right now JimSter?

HOLY COW! I think thats everything! LOL! Well, they are all superior products, but I don't thnk they are ALL necessary.... I would follow the plan outlined for you. SuperPak is an everyday supp. UMP and MP are just meal-replacements and are just FOOD, as are Ultra40 and MASS (they are both just a protein source). I bet you are supposed to take GS and Muscle Mass during your workouts and the Creatine Select either before or after or BOTH within the workout time. As for Density, it probably replaces MASS for a few weeks here and their to "harden" you up?

If you are going at it on your own JimSter, I would start with SuperPak every day, use UMP as your Meal-Replacement a few times a day, and take 4 Ultra40 and 4 Mass with every meal. Creatine Select 1/2 before your workout and 1/2 after. If you must, 4 tabs of MM and 1 serving of GS during your workout, but you don't really HAVE to..... If I were you, I would just stick with your basics and leave Density, MM, and GS in your cupboard just for the time being OR when your fat loss or muscle gain seems to be at a stand still. Don't get me wrong, those are fantastic products, but for your hard earned dollar, stick to your diet and the basics and see how far it will take you before adding anything else in! Just my $0.02

Each supplement and the specific instructions for use are listed within the rotating diet plan you're referring to in No Nonsense Vol 14 No 4. The minimum essentials listed are UMP, Mass Maker, Super Pak, Ultra 40, Mass and Density. To reconfirm in case I missed one, refer to the plan as it is written in No Nonsense.
It also has "optional" supplements listed. That means they will enhance results but for budget's sake they are not part of the essential list. The optional items are listed "in order of importance" so that you can easily make a decision on which, if any, to add.
To avoid confusion and to get the intended results of that plan (or others you'll read about), it's best to follow it as described and instructed. The plan is already tested and proven and it can become a bit of a guessing game if trying to change too much. I'd stick with the essentials (food and supplements) listed and go from there.
