I was just curious to know who is all preparing for a contest within the next few months?

Is Beverly helping you out?

Are you doing anything new that may be new to the people who view our website?

Are you ahead of the game or behind schedule?

If this is not your first time competing what is one thing new that you have learned this time around?

VA Maddog (Mike Milas) is - first show on Sept 17th 5 and 1/2 weeks out - second show two weeks after that.

Is Beverly helping you out?

Beverly helps me out by providing me with top notch products and answering my questions when they come up.

Aram convinced me to try BCAA loading between meals and it seems to be working very well. I use both Glutamine selected and added powder form bulk BCAA's with about 16 oz of water in a shaker with crushed ice and take this potion between each meal.

Are you ahead of the game or behind schedule?

I think that I am on track - perhaps about a week ahead of the same point last year.

If this is not your first time competing what is one thing new that you have learned this time around?

I have been getting some excellent posing advice and one-on-one help from some seasoned natural Pros and that is making a big difference in my posing. It is amazing how much a difference the finer points of posing make in your appearance.

First show sept 17, second one the following weekend on the 24th.

No one from beverly is helping me but i use all their supps

The thing i am going to do differently is not dropping my water so soon.

I think I'm ahead of the game at this point. my goal was to be pretty much ready 2-3 weeks out and i'm right on schedule.

i'm doing a little more work on my posing. since i have a little more muscle than my last show my posing has been tweaked a little to take advantage of that.

I am competing on Sept. 24 with 1 possibly 2 more to follow (Oct. and November).

I am making the transition from Figure to BB.

Rachel is helping me with my diet. Beverly Message Board folks are giving me lots of help for little things.

I have a BB judge helping me with my routine and posing. He is great b/c he is a good source of info for other stuff as well.

I am hoping I am on schedule as this is my firts BB and am not too sure. I am just really having fun preping for it though and figure I can learn from any mistakes made along the wayBig Grin

Im trying to get this ole body back into competition shape. I guess Im probably right on schedule, but for me, Im ahead of the game 11 weeks out hopefully now a little below 9%.

The only thing Ive done differently is not bulk up. I came to beverly at 156 at 10%, obviously Im a bantamweight.

My training is not as heavy as it once was due to some injuries that I dont want to cause to digress. So Im training more in a circuit style with less rest, and great concentration on doing the rep correctly and really feeling the muscle work. This is an experiment in and of it self.

Well see what happens.

Last November I went to my first BB show and became convinced at age 46 I would like to try a show. I initially contacted Beverly than backed away thinking it cost too much. I consulted with a local trainer, who is also an NGA judge - she said get on the Beverly plan - you have a lot of work to do (both body fat as well as just adding muscle) I hooked up with Jeremeiah and he has put me through my paces. I went from 218 pounds and apx 26 - 30% body fat. I weighed in at 181 at my first competition in June and 176 at my second one in July. My girl friend and I are now training for a show in October. Jeremiah is working with her and she has dropped from 28% body fat down to 12%. I think we are on schedule coming into the 8 week countdown. Two things I learned from the first two shows - if you think you are dark enough (tan) you probably are not - do another coat of protan. Secondly, take the posing seriously and start practicing early. I finally bought a video and it has helped a lot. Finally, go out and enjoy your new healthy lifestyle

Jeremiah:

I am plnning to do the Monster. This is my second since you set up my diet (Julie Palmer's June 2005 in Toledo was my first).

Still following your diet and with help from Tony P. and Robb from World. I will definetly improve from first outing. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again, Bernard (100 pounds lighter Smile

I have two contests coming up in October. Both are NPC events; Wisconsin Natural on the 15th and another in Elk River, Minnesota on the 22nd.

I am 53 years old. I took 3rd place in my first ever contest, the 2003 Northern KY. I came back this year to the Northern in much better condition (including 12 pounds additional lean mass) and placed an extremely disappointing 7th against a great field of 12. Since then, I won the Mr. Wisconsin 50+ and the Wisconsin Challenge 50+.

I learned a lesson from the Northern this year....I'm just not sure what it was! ;-)

I am doing my first show October 14. Doing diet and supps from bev (been following them to the letter), but no posing help from them. Got the Perfect Posing DVD, though. Other than that, I am relying on these boards for info. I am yet to find anyone w/ bb experience at my gym. I have a good bit of bodyfat to lose, as I am competing in bb, so I am a bit nervous as to whether I can pull this off. I think it can be done. I am going to give it my best shot. Heather
