Being a powerlifter, I hope it's ok to post here.

I'll compete in June for the 2nd time this year and hope to total 2,200+. Hit a total of 2,165 back in March.

The goal is, as I turn 40 later this year, to try and squat 1,000 with in the next 12 months.

Sorry, Wade. We don't like powerlifters here. Right Shorty?!

LOL! There are a few competitors here and your thoughts on training are always welcome. Most of us little powerlifters...our totals are 1,000.

I barely broke 1300 back in '90.

As always, BEST WISHES! There's no luck here. Either you do it or don't. Well, sometimes a judge may make a mistake saying you weren't quite to form or parallel, but it's not too often!

Should I assume you're a super-heavy weight?

There are a lot of us that will root for you!

For the stat folks, I'm 6' 2" and 330. I have no clue what any other measurements are. I get measured for gear about once a year and they know, I just put on the gear.

I have a couple of articles in PLUSA some of the BB folks might find interesting.

Wade, thanks for the info. You're pushing close to world records, aren't you?

I'm not sure if you've used any Beverly diets, but Steven Wade is one of Beverly's classic powerlifters. While diet may not seem like an issue, when going all out, it is.

Bring 'em on, iron warrior!

Steven and I go back a few years. Did he marry over his head or what?...LOL.

Actually, it's been the Beverly plan food and supplement wise that has allowed me to be this size. My family is genetically big. My Father is almost 70 and is 6' 285. My son is 17 and 6' 1" and 320. His best lifts are 805-500-575 and mine 905-605-655 officially. Steven got to meet my 17 year old at the A this year. Ask him about it.

A food plan is crucial for any serious athlete.
