Poor planning on the promoters part to have two shows right next to each other on the same day. A week apart would have been perfect for people who would have wanted to enter both.

One's for the naturals Big Grin that want to go up against naturals and ones for the other side, the unnatural route Roll Eyes!

I liked watching David Henry win as a natural, doing NPC National Qualifiers and getting the overal.

Back stage, he was cocky and let them know he was natural.

I'm sure he didn't like going the route he's taken, but he's justifying it to himself.

...by the way, although I am competing NPC, I am still 100% natural. I guess at my age (54), it doesn't make much difference anyway. There aren't many competitors over 50 in Wisconsin. However, I do like beating some younger guys in the light-heavies now and then!

Steve,
What about doing one of the NANBF/INBF shows and compete with the other naturals??

Its nice to beat the unnaturals, but why do all that work to have it taken away from someone that might have used?? If you are 100% natural take that step and compete in a truly natural federation, and this is not an accusation, just step up to a federation with a lot more comraderie!

Well the foxcities show is done and over my friends! I did not manage to take any of the top 3 spots as I so badly wanted to but what can you do as 6'1'' 183lbs natty doing a NPC un-tested show? I came in perfect as far as condition goes, Steve got me looking great right on the money! My big flaw was mass, I just did not bring enough to the stage. I still learned alot from this show and the journey to get there! I am so glad its over so that I can focus these last 3 weeks on finals. Its been a war these past 15 weeks and I could not be more relieved to be done with it all. Its going to be a good 2 years untill I come back to the stage as I have some much needed size to put on, at least 30lbs I would guess! Im only 21 so what rush do I have? A big congrats to GandyDancer on a job very well done this weekend! Good luck in Middleton bro, take names and kick butt!

Josh did a great job in his first show. He finished in the top 5 in a very competitive class of 8 or 9 and his level of conditioning was excellent. Next time you'll have to do the Natural show, then the competition for that 1st or 2nd place slot will be on a level playing field. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations Josh. If you reached a condition you think was perfect, that is awesome! You really can't ask for more than that in this sport. Any pictures?

It's always nice to take on the big boyz. At your height, that's tough! Congratulations in just taking on a contest and better yet, you placed in the top 5.

NPC is not a testing source. Was it a NPC Natural? Most NPC shows have nothing to do with a natural body builder, not even so much to promote a drug-free sport. The money is where the beef is and as long as money is spent for that size of an animal, it will continue to look for the performance enhanced athlete.

I did a NPC Natural and I'll tell you, there's no way some of these guys were natural, especially when you see them at other contests and they're "bulking up". I know the difference.

One thing about your size, bro...on the natural level, the bigger guys seem to be softer (excluding the pro level) and you'll place better, perhaps even taking the overall. I wouldn't give up and wait 2 years unless you're looking to compete NPC. Try the natural federation, perhaps OCB later this year. You're already in condition. Stay on a lean gain (harden phase) diet. You'll surprise yourself.

Those natural big guys in the heavyweights are usually the ones that need to diet another 8-10 weeks and be in another weightclass down!

Thanks for the perspectives fellas! I appretiate the support for getting up there and doing my thing. Like I said, no regrets at all on my part. I still came in just as I had expected to. But I still believe I need to put on some seriouse bulk before getting on stage again. Given my stats thats pretty obvious. Im just to stringy right now to make any real impressions on judges. I do plan to stick to a clean off season diet and put on some quality muscle while keeping pretty lean. None of that off season freedom **** where getting fat and heavy means your getting steady gains. I would like to stay at 12% tops near the end of my bulk. I am 6 or 7& right now so it wont move up to much from here. I am working with Steve to get me on a mass gain diet and supplement program right now.
